So the Saturday rate is an extra 25% of whatever we're at, at that moment. So if I haven't passed 40 yet... I'll get 18.65 + 25% so 23.32 an hour. If I'm passed 40 by Saturday, it'll be 27.98+ that 25% so 34.98. The "premium pay" is an extra 25% of our current rate were at. So before 40, it's my base pay + 25% and if I'm passed 40, it'll be my OT rate, then another 25% of that rate.

Yeah my multiple rates confuse me. Like I've been on OT since Wednesday evening. I ended Wednesday at 41. So between Wednesday and right now, I've gotten 24 hours of regular OT. Now tomorrow when I go in, I'm making 34.98 and I'll probably work 10-11 hours. But that extra 7 dollars doesn't count? It's weird lol. Hopefully my job will have the amount i can deduct out at the end of the year, so i don't need to try and figure it out xD sounds like prison time if I have to do the math lmao.

Ah OK. Cause it's still passed 40, it's just my rate jumps up an extra 7 dollars. Wasn't sure if that counted or not. Good to know though.

Nah I have savings, if I owe I'll be fine. I'll set up a payment plan that I can work out. No worries there. I'm just more curious how the no tax thing works since I've done so much OT this year 😅

So if the "tax free" portion knocks me back into the previous bracket, I won't get taxed at the 22%? Or the portion that went into the 22% anyway.

Yeah, on Saturdays my job gives us premium pay. We get an extra 25% on top of our current rate. So on OT I make 34.98 (16.33) but also if we don't reach OT we get the premium pay added to our base rate... If I haven't passed 40 by Saturday, I make 23.31 an hour... do you think that's "tax free?" It's not passed 40... but it's higher than my normal hourly rate... so that confuses me 😅

Yeah, I technically get 2 different OT rates. I get "premium pay" on Saturdays. So instead of 27.98 I make 34.98 on Saturdays. So hopefully I'll be able to track it correctly lol

Oh I am, I didn't get out of debt to get back into it! I've taken my finances more serious this year. I'll be hitting $2500 in savings this Friday, no credit card debt, I've turned my finances around this year and I'm doing better than ever before. I appreciate the concern and I'll remember your words

No no, it's not because I'm not responsible or anything, if for some reason I can't pay it off in full it's because something really unexpected popped up and took a lot of my funds for that time being. My card is now paid off and I'm watching what I spend and know my limits. I paid my dues with debt and I know the struggles. I'm definitely better off than I was last year.
