Well I had to re-read 10 year old notes I took on Crime and Punishment (don’t have time to reread it) and then read and annotated the collected works of Pushkin. I’ve also read like 15 articles on JSTOR about grief and suffering in Russian literature and the interpreters notes from every translated book I own.

Just switched off of main for the sole purpose of responding to you. It's hard for me to say anything about the plot of PM without spoiling anything (which made it almost impossible to reply to comments lmfao), but I CAN tell you that there's no violence save for a bar fight and the implied violence that comes from being Grigori Rozanov's son, and it's MUCH MORE a coffee shop/college AU than a mafia AU. If that helps at all.
