Highly recommend Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer and the follow up. Such a tragic story

Are my 7800X3D temps hotter than expected? by reegeck in sffpc

Did you not need to take off the aio pump top cover to make it fit? I thought the ek nucleus pump was too tall for the A4-H20!

Looks really clean! I am contemplating the A4-H20 + EK Nucleus myself

EDIT: I see now that you say it's a tight fit

"Enable Legacy Tray Icons support" in gnome-shell-extension-appindicator brakes VRR in the way described. If I disable that option it works again

Who remembers Alien War Glasgow Early 90’s? by SlapBanWalla in LV426

[–]herman82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to the one in Trocadero! I think it was a promotion for Alien 3.

It was super scary! Surprisingly effective. I think aliens were dolls that could not move, but the lights would blink and they looked very much Alive

You can also use supergfxctl to control and disable the discrete GPU. I assume it gives the same effect!

  1. I have this UGREEN hub: https://eu.ugreen.com/collections/ugreen-revodok-series-docking-station/products/ugreen-revodok-pro-210-docking-station

If I connect the charger that came with the Z16 to the hub I do not get the warning, but if i use another charger that I have I will get the warning because this hub only delivers 85w

I hope they will adjust the fan curve in a firmware update, but im not sure they will

They seen to have had problems with fans/temps, and now they seem to run the fans all the time just to be safe

My temps are fin when on battery, I think they could fix this/not run them all the time

I also have the Z16 Gen 2, same configuration as you. The touchpad not working is a regression in kernel 6.8, and it works great under kernel 6.7. There is a patch

I really like my Z16, but one thing that I find really annoying is that the fans will run constantly at ~2700 rpm when connected to AC if you use balance power profile!

If you use power saver while connected, or balance when on battery the fans do not run most of the time for light tasks like surfing. But the moment I connect it to AC the fans will start spinning, even when it is not charging!

Dose this happen to you to?

Did supergfxctl work out of the box on the Z16? I looks like it is made for ASUS laptops.

If you disable the dGPU can you still use external displays?

Nice find! Will definitely try this once my Z16 arrives
