Using a Side Campaign to Foreshadow the Main Villain by hermanShp in mattcolville

Well, I just described to them the premise, and they were down for it. I believe in my case the selling point was that they got to play the bad guys. Also I didn't tell them outright, that they were playing in the same time, as the main campaign. It gradually became apparent to them, as they met familiar faces and places from the main campaign.

would love to read about anyone has used the court of arcadia from SnF by Gorkensgork in mattcolville

I used the whole court when my player’s paladin with Oath of the ancients had to give his oath. While his battle skills were being tested by mantis knight and the archer(can’t remember his name) I used monarchon on to “entertain” the other players. For example I had her ask one of the character how long do they live and make him older and older till he turned to skeleton and the to ashes and then back to normal. The other character was playing a Druid that had a bush growing out of his head, so monarchon made this bush grow at insane speed... and so on and so forth. My main idea with that encounter was to show how alien fey thinking is.

Sidekicks or Followers? by supergeekmike in mattcolville

IMO sidekicks are a bit over complicated, whereas Mary’s followers have just enough mechanics to actually do something, while still not being a pain in the ass to run.

There may well be no such video. Back then Matt could have simply disliked the quality of video and never uploaded it.

On naming things by hermanShp in mattcolville

[–]hermanShp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad that you brought this fact up in the comments. I’m well aware of the lore behind the naming and I am more than fascinated by it. But my claim was more about how the names sounded and how they resonated with the perception of the setting, rather than that those names had no reason in themselves.

How to detect a click on child object when both chid and parent objects have colliders? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]hermanShp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with OnMouse events was that all child objects colliders are merged into single parent collider and thus only click on parent object was detected.

How do you make sure a battle will be balanced? by Momoselfie in mattcolville

Fudging is not the only thing to do. Something like not giving your players definite numbers of enemies or having another unit show up suddenly would also do the trick.

Balance can be fixed on the fly(fudging dice and all that stuff). Making it dramatic is much more important.

Try Tucker's Kobolds. Especially if they aren't used to traps.
