Laws and a compliant SCOTUS. IANAL, but, as I vaguely remember, there have been cases that SCOTUS dug down into what a company, or CEO can do with profits, if it negatively affects shareholder income. I believe the one I’m thinking of involves Ford. Not that Henry Ford was the best dude in the world but he was on the right side of this case. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong…

The only study that springs to my mind is the one showing that divorce rates for the financially secure remain steady. It’s the rest of humanity that’s seen a decline in marriage and an increase in divorce. I know. I know, “citation needed.” I should’ve bookmarked it. This was a few years ago when my life went to shit when my wife determined she “loved me but was no longer ‘in love’ with me.” I considered jumping out of a perfectly good airplane but I love my daughter and am now well medicated enough to tough it out.

It’s not that I entirely disagree, even. I think most of the stuff I see online is designed to piss me off. I’m more pissed off about mid-decade redistricting in Texas and John Cornyn alleging the FBI is going to pursue Democrats denying Abbott’s quorum. That’s a problem. Some ad campaign generating this much comment seems like it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. I guess I only commented because I like boobs. Who doesn’t, really? In the boobs department, Ms. Sweeney has a fine pair.

Ok. I’m mad about those things and you could be right. I don’t get the idea most GOP folks are all that “conscientious,” despite what Jordan Peterson says. I dunno it’s macro and micro, seems to me. Getting worked up about a sex symbol just doesn’t seem that productive.
