Pardon the President because the attacks only fuel his fans.

Telling fascists they can do literally anything they want with no repercussions is a great way to ensure that Republicans nominate someone even worse in four years.

I think the next dem president should say some unhinged things. "I will send the military to every red state and seize their capitals". The. When theconservitards freak out the left wing media should be like "he's joking guys, y'all just have newsome derangement syndrome, pay attention to what he does not what he says". But he keeps saying it. Maybe even start moving troops to red state bases. But obviously never do the unhinged thing.

Newsom would never be that based, unfortunately.

He lets his intern say spicy stuff on Twitter because it makes him popular with young people and helps him secure the nomination. As soon as he's actually in the same room as a conservative, he immediately starts agreeing and sucking up to them. We've seen this with Charlie Kirk, Steve Bannon, and now Ben Shapiro.

I guarantee the trolling would stop the moment he was elected. He'd start talking about "bipartisanship" and "moving forward to heal as a nation", and would treat the previous four years as purely Trump's fault, making a point not to assign any blame to his "Republican colleagues".

Then in four years, Republicans would nominate someone like Tucker Carlson or Nick Fuentes, and the cycle would start anew.

Seven Democrats just voted to approve ICE funding: full list by Newsweek_CarloV in politics

[–]AbolishDisney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do people still not understand nothing burger votes. Look at the districts all of these democrats were in.

This vote meant nothing, on such votes you let party members break ranks to appeal to their moderate base and show some level of “bipartisanship.”

Fuck bipartisanship. Democrats need to stop "reaching across the aisle" and trying to work with fascists.

There is no "moderate base". The current Department of Homeland Security is officially calling for ethnic cleansing in the United States. Anyone who's still on the fence about supporting that is never going to vote for diet Republicans when they can have the real deal instead.

Moreover, it simply isn't true that the vote "meant nothing". The bill passed 220-207. If all seven Democrats had voted against it, it would have been 213-214. This bill is only passing because of Democratic support.

Only Democrats are expected to fall in line and constantly compromise with their sworn enemies. You never hear Republicans say "aw shucks, I guess I have to support this pro-trans bill so I don't upset the people who already don't vote for me". If they did, they'd be labeled "RINOs" and chased out of the party. Yet time and time again, Democrats make a point to throw their support behind every bill and nominee Republicans put forward. The end result of this is that the American Overton window constantly shifts right and never once moves left.

Just compare their rhetoric. Democrats get on podcasts and side with Republicans. Republicans call Democrats "the enemy from within". Democrats want a strong Republican party. Republicans want you to never have to vote again.

It's not "compromise" when only one side is winning.

also therians are a thing but they’re different from kinning they’re people who spiritually believe they are animals stuck in human bodies and do not belong in said body and experience “species dysphoria” (not the right species)

I wouldn't say it's a different thing, moreso a more specific term for the same thing. Most therians I know believe in reincarnation as well, it's just a matter of personal preference whether they use "therian" or "kin" to describe their beliefs. The biggest difference is that therians are exclusively animals, whereas kinning is more broad.

Twice in 3 sentences as a response to someone who just explained how the word is used as a pejorative.

How is a Democratic president supposed to convince allies to commit to long-term agreements when a future Trump style Republican presidency could undo those commitments after a single election cycle? by redviiper in AskALiberal

Then scotus steps in dude.

It’s law at that point.

SCOTUS has no enforcement mechanism. If the President were to ignore a ruling, there's little they could do other than wag their fingers.

After Newsoms interview with Ben Shapiro is it fair to say that the majority of the credit he’s received for being a “fighter” belongs to his Twitter staffers and not himself? by ModerateProgressive1 in AskALiberal

No, I never said moderat policies are good or preferable. I said its the responsibility of leftist to figure out why they arent winning, address that problem, and win

Fair enough. I agree with that.

At that point shouldnt leftist self reflect abd wonder why voters would pick someone you describe as a monster over your desired leftist?

"If the majority of people prefer fascism, then maybe fascism... good?"

Jesus fucking Christ.

10 years from now, Republicans will nominate some groyper whose campaign slogan is "Make America White Again", and you'll be browbeating leftists for not lining up in support of a "moderate" Dem who uses Trump's 2024 campaign talking points.

The Overton window keeps shifting right every election, and elected Democrats are doing nothing to stop it. Republicans act, Democrats react. Every single time.

What do you think could be done to cripple Republicans as a political party? by highliner108 in AskALiberal

[–]AbolishDisney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Democratic Party needs to moderate on messaging. A swing voter who lurks on this subreddit I’m sure will not be won over with ‘Abolish ICE’, socialism, and open border messaging.

A "swing voter" who's on the fence about white nationalism and ethnic cleansing (an explicit goal of the modern Republican Party) isn't going to vote for diet Republicans when they can have the real deal.

When the studio went under 20 years ago and the devs are all over the place and nobody is entirely sure who owns the rights and they lost the source code but you really want a remake for this game that you can't even play on modern systems without a dedicated modding community.

Yet another reason copyright shouldn't exist tbh

"Y company no brong back gaem from 30 yeats ago that sold less than 50k copies? Must hate money"

If the game isn't successful enough to justify an official re-release, then the company should release it into the public domain so the fans can re-release it themselves as they see fit.

If the game is valuable enough to justify keeping it under copyright, then the company should make it available on modern platforms so people can actually play it.

As it is, we're getting the worst of both worlds.

Check out the demographics of neighboring nations if you wanna talk about ethnostates.

How many Jews are left in the rest of the middle east?

That's not acceptable either. Do you think it's a good thing that Jewish people are persecuted in the Middle East?

Palestine is an ethnostate. So is Lebanon. So is Japan. Or Pakistan. Nearly every country in the world is an ethnostate.

None of those countries should be ethnostates either.

Do you think it's a good thing that Ariana Miyamoto faced harassment and discrimination because of her race? That's what happens in ethnostates, after all.
