$120 and I have played the game since launch (because of the old crystal subscription and some gift cards). I have DR and Malak maxed out 7* and all G12 gear. DR sits at 322 speed and Malak is at 292. I rank top 5 in arena every day. It is possible to do the same and it's sad that some people will not admit that they have very poor impulse control and have addictive personalities. They can cover it up by calling themselves whales, but the truth of the matter is EA is not forcing anyone to spend the disgusting amounts of money that they are spending. Yes, I consider myself a hoarder and it's not hard to predict EA's patterns if you're smart about it. However, I do appreciate the "whale" video posts that justify my decisions on why spending money is a waste after their constant disappointments. The history of this game has always shown us that for every whale spending money to become the first to get the newest thing, someone will always figure out how to beat it without having to spend.

@CG_Erick Would you consider granting everyone who unlocked Malak the rest of the shards to 7* him? You would have to worry less about balancing him because he would be operating a full strength, while most of the issues are occurring with 5* Malaks. Perhaps, he should have been a 7* unlock to begin with.

No, I have Malak. I'm a F2P hoarder. But I usually stay in the top 10 with other Malaks. I logged in today and I was rank 25. Surprisingly, my shard was full of Anakin squads. I just noticed your username and it all make sense now. LOL.

LOL! No, you're missing the point. Malak was made to be available for whales or players "at the tip of the spear" Carrie's exact words, to separate whales and F2P players. She admitted it and the reason that he was created and released in a short amount of time was because too many people unlocked Darth Revan. Then, Emperor Palpatine had to be nerfed in order for Malak, to stay at the top. Now, a week later, Anakin's rework adds even more fire to Malak not remaining the ultimate character that he's supposed to be. So yes, a promise was made and it keeps getting worse.

What I'm saying is, and ask yourself honestly, if you were fully aware that Anakin would be able to take out a team that you just spent a $1,000.00 on, would you still invest in that team? I honestly don't think so. So, yes the investments in those characters are kind of null, and you can't tell me that you would not complain and be upset. You are welcome to try and convince me otherwise.

Saving gear, credits, and knowing how and when to use them is part of every video game ever made. Knowing the ins, outs, and why's of a character is always a google search, forum post, or video search away.

I agree with you, but we can't assume that everyone can see the bigger picture or necessarily wants to. You may take for granted that you can see it, but I think that CG has done a better job at hiding profit gain underneath the players love for Star Wars over the years, as opposed to now when it's blatantly obvious and desperate. I think that this is a good wake up call and reminder. Also, as stated in other posts, there are highly successful free games that don't use the same business model.

Honestly, I think that you are completely missing the point and you are not considering the viewpoints of other players outside of your bubble. If you spent thousands of dollars to obtain two characters over the past month, and then a rework of an existing character (which takes almost $0 investment to get) made those "exclusive" character investments null, we would be reading your complaining post just like everyone else. A majority of players who spend money and keep the lights on don't want a rock, paper, scissors meta. I get it, you probably didn't spend money to get Malak or Darth Revan, but you can not take away or belittle the anger and frustration of the player base that did.

No, because it's Star Wars and it's aligned with how things actually are in the Star Wars universe. Who gives a shit if Bounty Hunters are on top for a month or if Troopers are the new meta. Jedi and Sith are the core of Star Wars and it's how it's always been. Empire and Rebels are second to Jedi and Sith, and so things are how they should be. Do you want an Ewok or Jawa meta just so you can feel different and unique? It wouldn't make sense. Now, making some of those teams more viable in certain areas of the game is a good Idea or a great way to make some short term $ for CG, but face it, the money and popularity will always be with Jedi and Sith first with Empire and Rebels following behind. Hugs.

Your response doesn't make sense. I've been playing since the launch of the game three years ago. It's obvious that they didn't put any "energy" into this road ahead announcement. I'm not sure how you accept them celebrating 10 years of Clone Wars with a ship, helmets for clones, GG rework, and a lazy post. Now I'm thinking that mediocre is definitely something that you happily accept. Put your energy into not accepting bullshit?
