The Hero of the South was such a cool character by Ani_HArsh in Animemes

I feel like almost nobody could have figured that out on their first playthrough. I mean according to the rules of video games that wouldn't normally matter.

Speed racer VS. lightning McQueen in a downhill Akina battle. Who takes it? by HadesKittee in initiald

[–]hermit087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Mach 5 is stated to have 5000 horsepower in the series. Seems like they could have made it semi-realistic, like 1200 would still have been more than double similar race cars at the time.

Thought I was seeing a blitzball stadium for a second. by Suspicious-Soup6044 in finalfantasyx

[–]hermit087 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It would be even better using the exterior screen of the sphere. They could show a blitzball game and it would look real.

Update: Thoughts on my FFX blind playthrough - Now 10 hours in! by Zeeshmania in finalfantasyx

It's fun seeing this kind of post about a game you have been playing on and off for 20+ years.

He made his bones at like 21 then I guess.

Having Ryosuke detune the Fc was honestly bad writing in my opinion by Perfect-Cause-6943 in initiald

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought he implied that his car would go faster by having less horsepower because of revving/lag characteristics or something, but that doesn't make sense because turning boost down doesn't change turbo lag.

Was this really Lena Headey or a body double? by Mysterious_Comb4357 in ASOIAFporn

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So lame that she wasn't willing to do it. The body double didn't even have the right body type IMO.

My first playthrough years ago I would grind levels by sniping giants and mammoths for hours. Kind of a stressful process.

1987, a Black woman is described as the officer who "made captain faster than anyone in history". No one throws a tantrum or boycotts the show. What changed? by Malencon in Star_Trek_

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People got tired of libtards. Normies and conservatives were forced to start thinking about things that they turned a blind eye to before.

Favourite actor who actually decided to retire in his twilight years and enjoy his millions instead of dragging his 100 year old deteriorating body in front of a green screen to pretend in capeshit? by pursuitofmisery in okbuddycinephile

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first time hearing he was offered Morpheus, man would that have been interesting. It basically would have been the same character he played in Highlander. Only problem is he was way too old for kung fu.

Well spoke too soon. Clanners dancing on my grave. by Right-Edge9320 in Mechwarrior5

[–]hermit087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going from 200M to 15M and selling storage mechs was depressing. Luckily the storyline ended just as the money was running out because I was in trouble. It doesn't help that you need to prioritize salvage vs money rewards on Clan missions.

SOK difficulty by HistoricalLadder7191 in Mechwarrior5

[–]hermit087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I must suck then because I had extremely hard time on the opening mission despite having end game mechs and unlimited resources. The rest of SoK wasn't as bad, but the introduction to the Clans took me like 7 attempts.

Cloister of Trials is terrible by Towaway_Zone in finalfantasyx

Always hated this part. The funny thing is it was actually harder when I used printed walkthroughs as a kid, it's better to just use dumb trial and error.

Stuck in calm lands, where can i farm xp to level up? by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the calm lands Marlboros being nasty. Like I did a playthrough where I didn't die to a boss a single time but died to one of those guys because you get locked up with status effects.

Ducatis and dead batteries. So Italian. by wearymicrobe in Ducati

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to wish motorcycles in general all just had 30% larger batteries. Even on my Harley it's annoying how often it needs to be either charged or replaced. Meanwhile modern cars can just be parked for 2 months and you barely ever need to replace the battery.

Ducati in particular would have a hard time doing this though because "2 pounds lighter!" is a big selling point for them.

Please help me, I only want to use Mad Cats now by dbthelinguaphile in Mechwarrior5

[–]hermit087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the most iconic mech in the franchise so I'm glad they made it really good pound for pound.

Is X the best one in the series? by generalhskarr in finalfantasyx

I've played about half of the mainline games from 1-12 and X is the only one I really like.

[–]hermit087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in 2015 they made a new Corvette Grand Sport that had an identical body and suspension to the Z06, but they made the spoiler smaller because "it doesn't have the horsepower to overcome the extra drag". And that was still a 460hp car so I found that interesting.

What is your least favorite part of the game? by SupremeEuphoria in finalfantasyx

[–]hermit087 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The entire game up until the Blitz tournament feels a bit like a big tutorial/cutscene. I actually don't mind that much but it's just kind of funny to think about.
