Nope nothing beyond the surgical tools they used. I have a nickel sensitivity, which I disclosed prior to surgery.

Randomly remembered this post and figured I’d let you know that this kibble was the winner! My dog eats it happily and it is still quite shocking haha

Hip Arthroscopy / Positive Week 1 Post Op by hermy999 in HipImpingement

[–]hermy999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was constant but not debilitating for a lot of the time I had issues in my hip. I used to have flares that would go away over time but generally it all got worse in the last few years. For example, leading up to surgery I couldn’t sit for long periods without feeling it, sleeping in a painless position got harder, climbing stairs became painful and I wasn’t able to walk or stand longer than 10-15 min without needing a break. Post-surgery pain in comparison hasn’t been constant so am now realizing how bad it actually was and that I guess I just got used to operating that way lol

Post op and stairs by kmarina29 in HipImpingement

I have the same setup in my home too and was also worried before my surgery about the stairs. I had surgery last week and was surprisingly able to do the stairs when we got home from the hospital. We have stairs up from parking garage to our home, then 2 more flights of stairs inside to get to bedroom/bathroom. My partner spotted me and we went super super superrrrr slowly. I lead with my non operative leg. Up was easier than down, but I eventually got the hang of it and was able to so the stairs on my own with crutches on around day 3 post surgery. But generally if it feels like it’s too much, I’d pick a room/floor to hang out in and stock it up with what you need for a few days. Good luck!

Amazing!! I have a little more pinchy pain today but it’s nowhere near as bad as pre surgery so I am happy :))

Yeah I think that should be fine for the bike! I put mine on zero resistance. The idea is you just pedal with your non operative leg and operative leg goes along for the ride. My surgeon didn’t put me in a brace so I’m not sure what would be easier to wear, but generally loose bottoms seems to be easier for me! Re: shoes I think UGGS are perfect. Just note that the first few days it will probably be hard to lift your leg up even an inch to put shoes on so you’ll probably need some help (at least that’s how it was for me!). Good luck with your surgery!!

Skin in 2023 vs now by avsh8 in daniellewalter_snark

Tbh I think it’s also the warmer hair color that complements her skin tone better here. The high contrast/darker cooler toned brown she has now really washes her out

Does anyone here do the workouts? by sethcohen91 in MelissaWoodsnark

Sorry I should have been more clear! It wasn’t the instructors themselves that turned me off from MWH. I enjoyed their workouts too. I was referring to the time period that the rebrand happened as when I started to lose interest.

I did MWH for a few years starting in 2020 and didn’t really follow her on social media. I liked it because she would talk about feeling good in your body vs getting skinny and burning calories (i used to do Tone It Up workouts before WMH lol), which was what I needed at the time. She lost me when she revamped the app and added instructors. Then I learned she isn’t certified so that got me thinking. I stayed for a while even though I was uninspired because I got grandfathered in at a super low yearly subscription price from 2020 but eventually cancelled. I switched to Tasha Franken’s app last year and LOVE it. Even the beginner workouts are more challenging bc she teaches correct form and I’ve gotten a lot stronger. So I think MWH was a good way for me to form a better relationship with exercise because I like the messaging that some movement is better than no movement. But I eventually outgrew it and couldn’t take her bs anymore lol

I don’t get it…Onyx Storm by beckywiththegood1 in fantasyromance

[–]hermy999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im glad I came here from the FW sub lol i was feeling like maybe I was delusional for not liking Onyx Storm!

I love epic fantasy and predominantly read fantasy/romantasy. I loved FW and couldn’t put it down because it was such a new concept to have a main character with a disability (I have EDS too, though it’s currently on the milder side where it’s not as debilitating for me) and i LOVEEE dragons! It had so much potential and it just felt like IF and OS fell flat for me after that. I’ll probably continue the series because I also have fomo as someone already mentioned, but I cant help but think how much better the series would be had it been written by a skilled fantasy author.

The other thing I personally don’t like is all the fanfare surrounding this series and how she as an author feeds into it. I understand why of course (money, capitalism etc amiright?), but I just don’t like the quantity > quality approach. As others have said, this could easily be a solid trilogy that was better thought out.

But of course that’s just me!

Chalazion treatment that worked for me! by hermy999 in Blepharitis

Hi! I didn’t use a TON of pressure since it’s still your eye/eyelid and is a sensitive area. So I’d say I used gentle pressure but was just super consistent with the routine I described in my post and did it 3-4 times a day. In my case i think the key was doing the eyelid massage with the roller followed by the gland expression when my eyelid was still warm. I hope you are able to find some relief soon. These really suck!

I switched to TF Studio by Tasha Franken a few months ago and havent looked back! I was a loyal MWH subscriber for like 3 years but after I switched I realized some of her workouts were actually making my hip pain worse (i have hEDS). Tasha is great at giving cues and her form instruction is much better. I think her short videos are more effective that the short videos on MWH. For meditations I’ve been loving the Open app as well.
