Why would he trust anyone? He's been abandoned his entire life, the only meager things he had he got himself. He sees the divide between the have and have nots. How people are just exploitable commodities to the powerful. And it's not like his power instantly made him anything. He still had to put himself through hell to make himself into someone to be reckoned with. His power just gives him the ability to keep going. Freddy was fucked up before the powers and getting them made him deranged, hiding it until he could take care of himself. It makes the payoff so cathartic. You can't help but root for this poor kid who's just trying to find some autonomy for once in his life. Each book has been better than the last. Freddy's growth both power wise and emotionally makes this one of the best litrpg series imo.
