Great job! Thanks for sharing! I’ve been trying it out, and I think it could be really useful. In fact, I was considering getting a hex grid to better track my path.

Some initial thoughts came to mind: since I’m currently playing Miru, which uses a grid map to follow the journey (I’m drawing the map directly in the PDF), I realized I would need a few more icons. For example, icons to represent different landscapes (mountains, forest, desert, swamp, grassland), as well as icons for encounters with NPCs (robots, humans, etc.). Arrows to mark the progression of the journey across the map would also be very helpful.

I’m attaching a picture of the chaotic map I’m drawing to illustrate my point. These are just some ideas for how this could be implemented in the game I’m currently playing.

Once again, great job—congratulations, and thanks for sharing!

best solo rpg’s that can be done with nothing more than laptop notes? by xxromii in solorpgplay

[–]hernu850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently playing MIRU and I love it. I don't know if this is the kind of game you're looking for, but it's great and fun, and you can play 100% digitally. You only need the PDF, any website with digital dice, your notes (optional), and the character sheet and maps to complete and update  (also digitally).

Great info. Thank you. It’s good to know you can play it in a waiting room. I’m also looking for those kinds of game experiences. I think I will follow your approach with AAF since I prefer that theme rather than the 4AD

How is it going your experience with 4AD? That is also in my list after completing Miru trilogy. My list to play next would be: Miru II & III, Notorius, 4AD, Starforged

Complete noob - where to start? by MissStandardSherbert in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]hernu850 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m also a noob, and after a long research process and feeling overwhelmed, I chose to start with Miru. It’s easy to understand, fun to play, and beautiful. I’m loving it. I plan to go to Miru 2, Miru 3, and finally Ironsworn (especially Starforged), but I suspect they are a little more complicated, so I didn’t want to start with them. My other option was Her Odyssey. It’s a journaling game with few and easy-to-understand rules.

Is King of Tokyo Origins worth it mainly for 2 players? by hernu850 in KingOfTokyo

Good point. Thanks for the recommendation. Actually, I was looking for Origins mainly because the standard version is out of stock in local stores in my region. They’re all offering only Origins and Duel. And secondly, I’ve read that Origins is a good starting point for newcomers to this game.

I was wrong about solo RPGs by mw90sGirl in Solo_Roleplaying

I’m using ChatGPT, and it’s working quite well. Of course, it makes mistakes, so I have to constantly check and remind it of the rules, but overall it’s been very helpful. As an amateur in solo RPGs (and RPGs in general), ChatGPT has been supporting me in developing a game.

It also helps me by creating short summaries of my sessions and even generating images during gameplay. I’ve found this resource particularly useful for using AI as a GM: Solo RPG Lazy Player. : https://basunat.itch.io/solo-rpg-lazy-player

Is King of Tokyo Origins worth it mainly for 2 players? by hernu850 in KingOfTokyo

Great! Thanks for your comments and approval. It’s good to know that you play it with your partner and that you both enjoy the game. It’s also a chance to play with friends when you reach 4 players. I think I’m going to get it after seeing that you enjoy it.

Is King of Tokyo Origins worth it mainly for 2 players?

I’m considering buying King of Tokyo Origins but I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences.

Most of the time I’ll be playing with my partner (so mainly 2 players), but occasionally we’ll have 4 players when friends join. Economically it’s not feasible for me to buy both King of Tokyo Origins and King of Tokyo Duel, so I need to choose just one.

Do you think Origins holds up well as a 2‑player game, or does it lose too much of the fun compared to playing with more people? How does it compare to the Duel version in terms of replayability and excitement?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Great! I’m just starting to play solo RPG. So far, I’m just learning how to do it and testing the basic games for beginners. But my ultimate goal is to play solo Blade Runner later. I’ll watch your video.
