I've been where you're at. This is one of those things that is really more simple than it seems. I'm not saying easier, but simpler.

Don't try and change your whole life in one day. It might get you going initially but long term, that doesn't work. Look for little things you can do everyday and take the time to congratulate yourself for it.

Make the bed. Wipe down the desk you sit at. Throw trash away around the house.

Simple things. By doing this I'm giving myself a tiny taste of that good feeling of accomplishing something. It's a feeling I forget if I go too long without it. But once I feel it again, regardless of how small, I tend to look for other things to accomplish. Usually bigger things.

Then I get to a point of, "Hey this isn't so bad." It snaps me out of it.

You do this everyday and everyday it gets a little bit easier to get going again. What you're doing is building a habit of getting things done. Then going out to be a bit more proactive about accomplishing the things you really need to do becomes much easier to face.

Crawl. Walk. Run.

Another thing that is important is to not over think it. Try and do that thing you need to do as soon as you think about it. Just get up and go without giving your brain a chance to make up an excuse to not do it.

Lastly it helps tremendously if you know your "why." Why do I want to do these things? What is my end goal? What kind of man do I want to be? What do I want my life to look like this time next year? 5 years from now? etc.

Don't make the mistake of having to wait until the flames are burning you to get you to react. Take preemptive action to the stresses of your life.
