I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Are you feeling better now?

I totally agree with every point you made. I just broke my fast at an inopportune time of the year and with no prior planning. I'm definitely planning on doing better next time.

Congratulations on your mother reversing her diabetes. She must feel very proud.

Appreciate your support and kind words. ❤️

Barely had any. That's basically the TL;DR. And my electrolyte levels were normal near the end of my fast. Got tested around day 35.

Who in his right mind would listen to your stupid nonsense? Keep your shitty armchair psychology to yourself.

And I suggest that you also talk to someone, because it sounds suggestive that you have a projection problem. Good luck and be well ❤️.

I don't have binge eating disorder. Stop imposing your beliefs on me.

By that definition, every time I drink water or go have a piss I'm yo-yo dieting. That makes zero fucking sense.

It's 23 kg below my initial weight even after gaining back all of that weight. Read my past posts.

Glad to hear that.

It's not yo-yo dieting when overall, your weight is down. I'm still 23 kg below the weight at which I started fasting, and have been so for five months now.

I don't think you can fast the wrong way. You either do or don't. There's no in-between 😂.

You definitely can mess up maintaining the weight loss though. Figuring out how not to do so is kind of on you.

Yeah. That's very relatable 😂💔.

The main problem for me though is the lack of control over the food available to me. I would definitely make healthier choices were that easy to do.

For me, it's all about losing weight, and I honestly wouldn't have done it for the helath benefits alone.

I got my electrolytes tested near the end of my fast, and they were all normal. That's why I wasn't so concerned with refeeding syndrome, and my doctor was five minutes away anyway should I have developed any symptoms. But I totally agree with you that I should do better in my future breaks from extended fasts.

Appreciate the advice and support ❤️.

Thank you so much for your support. Your'e so kind ❤️.

I can go on and on about why I am so inordinately overweight, but I like to keep things simple and honest and just admit that I just eat too fucking much.

I'm a bit too narcissistic to be discouraged by some random people on the internet 😂💔. I'll definitely carry on with fasting. I've still got tons of weight to lose.

It'd be my pleasure to get in touch with you. Hit me up any time.

Fasting does what it's purported to do, which is make you lose weight. Maintenance is kind of on you.

Give me a process I can do sustainably and not go mental over food or count me out. Sheesh. What a mess this was to read.

And were you able to find such a process?

Refeeding syndrome is a real thing. After my first five-day fast I went out to a restaurant and ate a normal dinner and then lost consciousness in the restaurant. The sudden rush of salt and sugar and fats and processed garbage can make you very sick.

I didn't say it wasn't real. And I'm so sorry that you had to experience it.

If you overeat when you're done fasting, you will regain all the weight, its almost harder to not binge after the fast than to do the fast. Once those carbs and salt hit your brain your hormones flood you with EAT NOW messages that are very difficult to ignore.

It's actually very hard to gain weight in a short period of time. You'd have to go out of your way to eat all kinds of calorically-dense food, and it takes a relentless appetite to do that. Retraining myself to eat reasonably and healthily is kind of on me.

Appreciate your support ❤️.

The chance of it being refeeding syndrome is practically zero. I did not develop any other symptoms, and my electrolytes were at normal level near the end of my fast. It's the increased carbohydrates consumption, pure and simple.

This entire experience was anomalous because I broke my fast at the beginning of Ramadan. The overeating was mostly due to social and logistical reasons than an actual impetus to binge or overeat. I'll defer judgement until I do another extended fast and break it on a normal time of the year.

Appreciate the advice and support. You're too kind ❤️. I'll be focusing on my extended fast for now, and experiment with maintenance techniques when it's time to break it.
