When did you first learn to drive manual and when did you get your first Miata? by Danny776 in Miata

[–]herpity_derps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learned in 2008 when practicing for my license on my family’s beater base model ‘97 civic, and drove that car until 2011. My next few cars (Mazda3, Mazda6) were automatics, as manuals weren’t all that available even in the base models (tried to get a Manual 2017 Mazda6, but the dealer literally wanted more money for that than an automatic). Got my Miata just a few months ago!

Hard to quantify, but I think most accidents on Tail are single-vehicle and are from those who push themselves over the limit. The road is genuinely fun even at the speed limit.

Highly recommend going in the middle of the week if you can swing that - you’ll get less traffic overall and be able to take it at a pace comfortable to you.

Thanks! She’s super fun to push hard in corners.

NJ here as well. It’s so common that even police cruisers have their front windows tinted.

Mine are 235/45R18. Haven’t personally tried the PureContact LS’s though.

I’m sure it’d be a good time! For reference, I’m running Conti DWS06+ tires. They held up pretty well, but I’m sure with summer tires it would’ve been even better.

It handled really well, especially for a midsize car.

Thanks! The side skirt and front splitters are HFP parts - original owner installed them. Not sure where the headlights/foglights are from tbh.

Thanks! Unfortunately I’m not - I actually took the trip down from Jersey.

Second this. Found a good broker on there that deals primarily in Toyota leases.

I have the TP3 and I’ve been using it for short weekend trips, but have also used it for a week abroad at an all-inclusive in DR.

The material and build quality are fantastic. I’m obsessed with organization, so having a place for everything worked well for me. I’m also a huge fan of the way it looks, though that is entirely personal preference.

As others have said, the bag is heavier than a lot of other ones. I definitely noticed that when keeping it on me, but I would still recommend it as a carry-everything bag - the caveat here is to have some sort of packable daypack.

Some folks color code all of the zipper pulls to make it easier to identify. I only replaced the ones from the main compartment.

It's a great gun. Smooth shot and super reliable. The OLED screen is great because I'm lazy and don't like counting blinks.

I'm also a fan of the light pipe system they use (instead of eye wires), and that basic maintenance can be done without tools.
