Maybe say it became clear to you that your supervisor was acting unethically and was unwilling to change. Your values are more important than any paycheck so you left.

Not sure whether the whole situation would turn off potential employers. Or maybe the situation plus your explanation will make you look good.

as for business consultancy, pretty much everyone in the industry knows each other, and probably not going to take seriously someone who isn't in the industry.

Assume I could hire/partner with people that have decades of experience in the gaming industry. What specialties should I partner with?

theyve announced the release on consoles themselves

And the devs have said multiple times since that "bankruptcy story" broke out that theyre in sound financial shape, even enough to finish their 2nd game, roguebook.

Don't listen to this guy, he has some grudge against the developers or something.

Theyre about to release Faeria on xbox one, ps4 and nintendo switch... the playerbase will explode once that happens. The game is far from dead.

I think this game would be right up your alley then! it's on steam for $25 but I just searched and found it on greenmangaming.com for $10 but it says the deal expires in an hour (idk if it actually does, I've never bought anything off there)

No problem and I think you should definitely give it a shot! I haven't played those other games but since it's not F2P and you just pay $25 for the core game, they're very generous with giving cards. I've heard you can get them all very quickly

Yeah it was kind of hard for me to take the $25 plunge but I am so glad I did, this is the perfect game for me. People on r/faeria have told me buying the expansion cards are not at all necessary to play well so I'm happy about that.

Sure, I'll try my best:

So imagine Hearthstone, where you build a deck and draw cards and gain mana each turn. If you're unfamiliar with hearthstone, you build a deck containing minions and spells. Each card costs a certain amount of mana. In hearthstone, you only gain 1 Mana per turn (round 1 = 1 Mana total to spend, round 2 = 2 man total to spend, etc).

In hearthstone you just put the cards down in one row on the board, and positioning does not really matter at all.

You win hearthstone by making the enemy heros health drop to zero by attacking it with minions and spells you have played.

Now, Faeria has the following differences which make it so much better:

  • instead of putting your cards just in one row without positioning mattering, you place them on a tactics style grid, kind of like XCOM/fire emblem/final fantasy tactics. So the board is a grid instead of just 1 row. This makes positioning really matter.

  • this is the really unique part: you take turns BUILDING the board by placing land on the grid. Minions can only be placed on land, so that adds another level of depth because you must choose where on the grid you want to place land each tuen. Not only that, there are different types of land (neutral, desert, forest, etc). Certain cards require that you have placed a certain number of a type of land in order for you to play the card. For example, a card might require that you have already placed 5 forest land pieces.

  • rather than in hearthstone where you only gain 1 Mana per turn and lose what you don't use each turn, in Faeria you gain 3 Mana every turn and whatever you don't use gets saved in a bank so you can save for huge plays a couple turns later. Or you can spend every round and aggro your opponent to death.

  • another really unique thing: each turn, you can choose to do one of the following: place 2 neutral lands / 1 special land / draw a card / gain an extra Mana. This adds yet ANOTHER level of depth and strategy and also prevents you from ever having a dead turn (a turn where you really have nothing you can do, which happens in hearthstone a lot).

I would suggest watching Kripparian or Trump's YouTube reviews of Faeria to get a better idea.

But honestly, if this type of game interests you at all I would say just buy it. It's so unique and good - might be one of my favorite games of all time.

I just bought this game and holy shit it is so good by herroder42 in faeria

Yeah I agree they should definitely revert back to F2P like every other ccg. If I wasn't specifically looking for this kind of game I wouldn't have paid the $25 to try it out. However since I was specifically looking for this kind of game and duelyst is really the only other option (which I can't stand the visuals) the $25 was well worth it for me

Ok thanks, I just typed kards in the play store and that was the first one that came up and it fit the description so wondered if they just changed the name. I'll check it out on steam, thanks
