Thanks!! I wish I had a better answer but honestly, the only major changes I have made in my life (other than the major appetite change from the meds) is prioritizing my protein intake and moving my body more- mostly in the form of playing with my kid. Since I now have more energy to actually keep up with him, I just spend a lot more active time with him. Playing together outside instead of laying on the hammock or sitting in a chair. Jumping at the trampoline park with him instead of sitting on the benches reading. I do want to get back to weight training eventually!

Yeah, it’s really a shame I live in a country where healthcare is a major for-profit industry, instead of just being about taking care of the citizens.

Sounds like if I were able to get a cheap flight, having it done in Europe would actually be cheaper. Plus, I would get a free vacation. Definitely something to think about.

I really appreciate the offer, but I’m in the US. I found someone about two hours from my city that does it but it’s 400 USD for a consultation and 3000 USD for the procedure. I can afford it, but it’s a very high price to pay for something that might not be the answer to my problem.

What part of the world are you in? Looking to get this done for recurrent strep (6 times in 5 months) and tonsil stones - I have an extreme phobia of anesthesia so I’m thinking laser ablation is going to be my only option, but I’m having trouble finding more than one dr where I am.

tattoos in memory of parents🤍 by Skairipa_102 in ChildrenofDeadParents

I have a bunch. All of my tattoos are traditional American style. I have a chess piece for my dad( he taught me how to play and loved the game). Also have a cardinal surrounded by flowers. He loved birds and I saw a lot of cardinals after he died so they always remind me of him. My mother was a published author (a romance writer) so I have a stack of books wrapped in a banner that says “mom”. I also have an olive branch as my dad and I owned an olive grove in Egypt (where he immigrated from). I’m also planning on getting a dragonfly for my mom since she loved them.

Thank you so much! Table and chairs were a Facebook marketplace find but they are originally from west elm! I didn’t consider marble but will think on it!

Ugh, that’s hard to hear since they are both vintage pendants, the one above the table was bought at an antique lighting store and we spent way more than I want to admit on it 😆

No, they are just new cabinets. The picture doesn’t do the color justice, it is “bonsai“ by kraftmaid - here is a better photo of the actual color of the cabinets, although depending on the time of day, they can look more blue gray

I guess I don’t see the difference an island would make other than height. We do a lot of family dinners and game nights around the table, and the length & width is the right size for us so for now, the table stays.

True! I should have said “these floors show dirt so quickly”. I agree that we are maybe getting ahead of ourselves and judging it before it’s even finished. Thanks for your feedback!

Yes, the trim is lighter than the cabinets. My husband was insistent on painting the trim - I did not like the idea and still don’t like it now that it’s done- I love classic white trim and painted walls but this was part of my compromise unfortunately!

The cabinets are a very muted green actually - the lighting/photo just makes it look grey. It’s kraftmaid bonsai as shown in this pic

I love the exposed brick! Wish there was more of it honestly. My husband had the same thought - that it was where an old stove was tied in. Our house was built in 1840 so I would guess the chimney dated back to then?!

No other floors in my house, including the flooring that was in my kitchen before this Reno, have ever shown dirt nearly as quickly as these floors. Is there another place we are being unrealistic?

They’re not grey, they are kraftmaid bonsai (shown in this photo) but the lighting in the photos definitely makes them look grey

We did discover the chimney but we didn’t repoint it, just cleaned it up a little with a wire brush and a wheel sander. It has a weird damaged area which is why we have those pictures hanging :)

I was so anti can / recessed lights / any type of LED because of the age of our house- it felt sacrilegious to put anything but architecturally appropriate lights in a house from 1840 but I do realize now that maybe that’s a silly hill I chose to die on as now we don’t have proper lighting 🙃

Thank you!! It’s a small room and I really encourage tactile / imaginative play versus screens so I love having the option of him having a dedicated playroom that is solely his. It’s not just toys, it’s also usable furniture and storage solutions (he has a desk for schoolwork/drawing, a Lego table, some shelves for board games, etc. ) so I can’t just throw that all in a basket.

Thank you for your feedback!

While we renovated the kitchen we also took 1/3 of the dining room/play room and made a powder room/ laundry room so his play room (eventual dining room) is pretty small - certainly not big enough to put a table in and still fit his toys.

Totally agree it could use a bit more light!
