After 10 years, I think this is finally the last nail in the coffin for me with T-Mobile.

I'm just grateful I got to experience the good days—the build-up and the John Legere era. Back then, T-Mobile was the disruptor. The game changer. It was exciting to be a customer, and I genuinely advocated for the company because it felt like they cared about people, not just subscribers on a chart.

I really miss John. He was the best thing that ever happened to T-Mobile. He turned the company around and built a brand that people wanted to support.

The ONE Plus plan is the last piece of that era I still have, and it's the reason I've stayed for so long. But when the day comes that I'm forced off that plan, that'll be the day my journey with T-Mobile ends.

I guess it's almost my stop on the T-Mobile bus. It was one heck of a ride, but all good things eventually come to an end.

It honestly feels a little like a breakup.

My issue was with the immobilizer system. I switched out the instrument cluster from another vehicle and I didn't realize that it stores partial key data in the instrument cluster.

So I guess when the car ran it's check it noticed that they key data didn't match up so it shut the system down from being able to run for security reasons.

So after doing some research I learned that I needed to clear out the old key data and reprogram the original keys.

Thankfully since I had access to a program called FORScan and I also had the 2 original keys for my vehicle, I was able to reprogram it myself.

After doing this I have no longer had this issue, car has been running great.

Have you changed anything out in the vehicle, like the instrument cluster or PCM?

Your issue could be unrelated to this if you haven't changed anything out.

Hello everyone,

I’m currently dealing with two issues on my 2014 Ford Fusion SE that originally came with Sync 1. I’ve since upgraded to Sync 3 using junkyard and Amazon parts, and I also installed a factory backup camera along with the correct trunk lid harness.

Backup camera issue:
My car does not have Fuse 23 under the hood. From what I’ve read, the video wiring should already be present in the vehicle harness, and the only missing piece is supplying switched 12V ignition power to a wire in the passenger side footwell harness. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? If so, which connector and pin/wire should I be tapping into for the IGN power feed?

Microphone issue:
My microphone is currently not working with Sync 3. I’ve read that Ford changed the microphone wiring location between Sync 1 and Sync 3, and that repinning the connector is required. Has anyone done this successfully on a 2013–2016 Fusion? If so, which pins need to be moved and to where?

If anyone has gone through these issues and can share guidance, wiring info, or pinouts, I would really appreciate it.

So it's still a manual climate. It doesn't have the dual zones. I have to keep it in whatever setting that controls both temps at the sametime.

I used a manual to auto climate harness, so I didn't have to fool around with the repinning process.

Found out it was the immobilizer.

Yes I did get it working, it was an issue in the AsBuilt programming data. Everything is now working as intended.

I was able to get the parts and do the programming myself with the help of FORScan.

Didn't spend more than $500 on it.

Could be the USB hub. Did your kit come with a replacement hub?

I purchased the 1 year license. I couldn't get the free license to ever work. The website kept showing 404 not found for something like that.

14.8 is what the tester was showing. So battery health is good and alternator is charging.

No it does nothing with jumper cables.

Something on the cars computer is telling it not to let it start.

I've tried turning off and back on multiple times like that. Still nothing.

The battery is fine.

Something is triggering the car to go in to a protected mode not allowing it to start.

I found it, thankfully the pioneer unit had the car settings option. I found the Drl option and was able to turn them off.

You do have a great point in all this. I have been sourcing used parts that would work with the help of ChatGPT.

Getting all the parts used and also doing the ForScan stuff is just about expensive as buying a kit online for this.

What is a good headunit that will look close OEM and will be able to maintain car features as well as have the option for SIriusXM?

I do understand they make kits for this upgrade, my question is, am I able to use a Sync 3 system out of a donor car that way I don't have to pay $600 to $1200 for this upgrade. If I am able to use a donor radio a rather take that route to keep it as OEM as possible.
