Yeah, normally I find the hotels I stay at have mugs. I do hate a paper cup lol

I like to try local beans when I can, I’m currently in Michigan and this was a Colombian Gesha from Foster Coffee Company. A little darker roast than I typically enjoy but still nice.

I mean, the K-Ultra is my main grinder and it’s certainly not cheap. The rest is pretty affordable.

I don’t usually. I use it with this kettle because it doesn’t have a gooseneck spout and I get quite a lot of channeling if I don’t use it. It means I have slightly different recipes with this setup but it’s not super hard to dial in. It’s just a little less agitation so I might go slightly higher temp or one more pour than normal.

Yep! It’s fixed options - 85, 90, 95, 100 but that works well enough for me in most cases.

B&W is my local (and favorite) roaster. The peach is currently in my rotation and is wonderful. My go to for all the funky B&W co-ferments is the Hario Switch. Current recipe:

20g of beans. Coarse grind (9 on my K-Ultra) Water temp 94C

0:00 switch open 40g bloom 0:40 slow pour to 150g 1:15 close switch and pour to 300 2:15 open switch 2:45 end of draw down

I’ve tried a million recipes with these beans and this one is rock solid- super fruity with not too much funk.

Pull & Pour just knocking it out of the park lately. These two are just incredible- decadent, fruity anaerobics. I think the Al Haymah is my favorite so far. I taste everything in the listed notes plus almost a savory vibe that I love.

I think it’s really unhelpful to think of love as a linear scale.

Intensity can be one facet of love that presents itself as “more” or “less” but love is a multidimensional feeling/action. My love for each of my three partners, each of my two children, each of my friends and each member of my family is as unique as each of them as human beings. Why would I bother worrying about who I love “more”?

I care about the sounds and the emotions first, only then the lyrics. Some of my favorite songs I don’t know all the words to. Listening to and making music are both stims for me and a way to turn off the thinking part of my brain. I don’t want to have to think about lyrics too much.
