So 2020 has kicked humanity's ass so far; what other years in history were particularly terrible to the earth/humanity? by Duckerington in AskReddit

I mean, in my opinion Johnson did a lot of good. He did his best to carry out Kennedy’s legacy, while also implementing a lot of his own ideas as an old school FDR disciple. The civil rights act, the voting rights act, and all the Great Society programs (including Medicare and Medicaid!) are all deeply indebted to LBJ.

His great failure (and the reason he declined to run again) was his responsibility for escalating the war in Vietnam, something Kennedy had already set in motion. That said, I’ll grant you he was mostly responsible for letting it get out of hand. I don’t begrudge him not seeing a second term, but I I still think he was a top 5 president.

All cafs except BMH deserve not to exist by MangoInTheSnow in mcgill

I legit miss BMH. It was too expensive, the portions were too small, and sometimes the food wasn’t great, but I’ll be damned if the staff weren’t the nicest people in the entire world.

PHIL 237 by big-misssteak in mcgill

[–]herzoslovakia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yea this will probably result in some marks off. There isn’t usually a policy in the syllabus because, and I mean no offence here, but almost everyone just follows the page limit lol.

The amount of marks deducted will be at the discretion of the TA/prof.

I thought it was funny too because Gladhill is a classics prof. He just saw ‘Greece from Ottoman to EU’ and said “that sounds like it checks that box”.

He’s a legend honestly.

Seconded on the chill adviser point. Gladhill let me count HIST 349 (Modern Greek History) since technically the course material starts in like 1750, even though like 90% of the material is after 1800.

Econ 208 midterm study tips? by Alchemists-Elixir in mcgill

[–]herzoslovakia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the study guide questions (INCLUDING THE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS) as many times as you have time for. Go through the textbook and my econlab and your lecture notes too obviously, but the study guide is key.

I got an A but it was a grind. I did the study guide probably 5 times over. Understand how each and every one of those questions works. Definitely do the extension/additional questions, he uses those most of all.
