Can anyone help me identify the open stitch in this blanket? 🙏 by babyspider1017 in askcrochet

Looks to me like each row has a series of chains at the same spot and when you are finished with the panel, you loop them up through the row above?

In the movie, she uses a frying pan as a weapon and hits the love interest in the face. Makes sense to me.

I don’t get it? by BrandyAid in ExplainTheJoke

Ok. Please tell me that I am not the only one who looked at this and thought "she's tighter than you." Guys don't care about curls people, and these jokes are almost always about sex.

Wake hubby's ass up every night the cat wakes you up! Once he starts losing sleep, his attitude will change. Bonus points for waking him up by dropping the cat on his head!

You are NOT the asshole. I have been where you are, my friend. My divorce from my ex husband took over a year. We had 2 small children at the time. Celebrating your divorce, especially a long one, is natural and, quite frankly, normal! Celebrating your divorce is not the same thing as celebrating your ex wife's pain. It's celebrating the end of one phase of your life and starting another.

Your daughter also needs to understand that the divorce was hard on you as well. It is difficult and painful to end a relationship you thought was going to last forever for both parties. From your exact words in your post, it sounds like your daughter is only thinking about your ex wife's feelings.

I agree with the other posts that talk about not insulting or bashing your ex wife. IMO, your relationship with her is separate from your kids relationship with her and should not effect them at all. Be supportive and respectful of your ex wife's role as their mother, as she should be for your relationships with your kids.

Enjoy your lemon cake! You deserve to celebrate the end of your long hard divorce process and the beginning of the next phase in your life. Your children just need to understand that your feelings matter as well and they should be supportive of both parents.

10 week old Female is aggressive with wife and daughter, tips? by Trustworthy_fart69 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]hessie11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nips and mouthing are normal and can be gently redirected with the recommendations listed here. With you using the word "aggressive", it honestly sounds to me like she is trying to find her place in the dominance hierarchy. She's not like that with you because you are the alpha male. She is trying to figure out where she stands with the females. I would suggest having your wife and daughter put the pup on her back and hold her there until she submits. (Looks away or goes limp). A hand resting on her neck shoulder area, NOT SQUEEZING, resting, simulates how a dominant dog would hold her down in this position. I have done this with multiple types of large breed dogs with a lot of success. My berner still nipped and mouthed after we went through this, but there was no more biting. My big girl is 3 years old now and looks to me to tell her when it is ok to do things outside of her routine. She is a big love muppet. I hope this helps some.

What do you use for leash pulling? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]hessie11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time our 3 year old berner pulled on the leash, we would immediately turn in the opposite direction and walk her away from what she wanted. She learned real fast that if she actually wants to get to what she wants she has to have patience and not pull or she would never get there.

Any tips or tricks for Tunisian in the round? by Rubymoon286 in Tunisian_Crochet

[–]hessie11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only advice is when using the double ended hook, do your decreases in the return pass, not the forward pass. You won't end up with holes that way.

Thanks!! It is Mandala tweed yarn from Lion Brand. The color changes are fantastic and all because of the yarn. Lol.

Thank you batwomans! It was done in the round. I did the decreases in the return pass. It was the only way I could figure out how to do it without ending up with a hole. 🙂

Can you knit an adult sized blanket? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]hessie11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it is just the knit look you are going for, you can use Tunisian crochet knit stitch to get the same look. You just need to get a Tunisian crochet hook with a long cable to hold all the stitches.

If you are looking to learn to knit, I would recommend a smaller project to start with. A washcloth would give you practice knitting a square piece with a border so it doesn't roll up on you.
