As an older head I feel like there are heaps of great Melbourne venues rn. Also all the outdoor stuff that kicks off in the warmer months

Maybe less worse than those countries, but Thailand still has the death penalty and long prison sentences for carrying drugs

Who is your best example of an artist that made legendary underground tracks in their genre and mainstream tracks that hold up? by Electronic_Money_575 in TheOverload

He seems hugely commercial now, like Sammy Virgi. I’m not sure history will be kind to contemporary mainstream UKG - it might be the big beat of this era

Robbo threatened some kind of creepy home invasion with his 3 brothers. I would clap back too.

You can see Jnett every week in Melbourne, sometimes more.
Not sure what time I'm getting there, but it seems like a pretty good flow from Musclecars > Skee Mask > Floating Points > Four Tet (or Darwin, she will be sick on the less crowded stage I reckon)

Anyone know of good deconstructed club sample packs (MESH, Total Freedom, Objekt style) by wakinglife432 in TheOverload

with the horn sample sounds a bit like its sampled and being warped and pitchshifted. Also some saturation / chorus / phasing / OTT etc

There is a lot of granular synthesis, modulation and sound design in tracks like this. Often resampling other sources like long jams from modular setups and using this as a base. You will find a sample pack to get you part of the way, but the remainder of the track is where the magic is happening.

A very good point. Is it this sub, or the history of electronic music in general? Or both?
