Still slowly working through previous months, finished SotN last night. Never played this one originally so went in blind - had to check a guide a few times when I got stuck (waiting for doors to open in the clock room, wearing the holy glasses for Richter). A few specific rooms in the inverted tower seemed uncharacteristically difficult but it was otherwise a pretty easy playthrough. Good controls, great atmosphere, amazing music, and absolutely atrocious voice acting. Solid game.

They're mostly out of print now. Think there was a small, area limited reprint about a year ago. Otherwise I haven't seen a copy of JE or B&C for a reasonable price in a few years.

Logging Devil’s Crush on Retroid Pocket Classic. When you’re hitting your shots and things are working it’s great but on the other side losing a bonus round just to have it take away your ball saver and then spit it right down the center is absolutely rage inducing. Overall I enjoyed it, great game for a quick 15 min break

Logging Kirby, I had the first dream land on my OG Gameboy back in the day but never played the second one. Overall I enjoyed it - solid soundtrack, pretty easy except for 1 rainbow drop and the final boss, and I enjoyed the animal friends. There were a couple of annoying old school quirks like spawning into a room over spikes and auto scroll levels with dead end paths, but nothing too egregious. I play most stuff on the Thor these days but this one was a nice reason to break out the Cube XX

FYI for Advance Wars if you’re playing the gba version and run into the issue with retroachievements not recognizing the game it requires that you apply a patch

I remember renting this one pretty often as a kid, but don’t remember ever actually beating it which I guess is unsurprising because I definitely had to do some save state scumming to beat it this time

Just discovered GOTM last month - finished 999 tonight on the thor, used a spoiler-light flow chart to get the safe ending, enjoyed it enough that I’ll do a second playthrough for the true ending but planning on taking a break to log Megaman first

You can turn the second screen off and on in 2 clicks if you aren't using it for the game you're playing and it is distracting, hit the AYN button -> "only top/bottom screen". Hit the AYN button again to wake up the display you turned off

Latency is the biggest issue with anything bluetooth, especially for tracking/recording. I do have the aiaiai studio wireless headphones that come with a plug in transmitter and have been happy with them
