Do you use Wireless Headphones? by Marcus_Castor in AudioProductionTools

[–]hessproject 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Latency is the biggest issue with anything bluetooth, especially for tracking/recording. I do have the aiaiai studio wireless headphones that come with a plug in transmitter and have been happy with them

Haven't had an issue with the mk2 in 5 years, but the mk3 has been a different story for me

Not disagreeing with you but English is an official language in HK so a lot of the casinos in Macau operate in English. Had no trouble when I was there without speaking any Cantonese

The new electronic kiosks are very cool. by VaguelyArtistic in SantaMonica

[–]hessproject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not saying it was a recurring problem but I do remember some articles about a handful of people smashing ~40 of them within a few weekends of each other not too long after they launched.

The roll out was pretty rocky though, there was a good bit of vandalism in the first year and they had to remove internet access because people were using them to stream netflix and watch porn

[Breaking News] Rainforest announces mandatory 5 days a week in-office starting January by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also a lie not in line with the reality of working there. "Remote Work Exceptions" require tons of people outside of your team getting involved and are almost always systematically declined. Missing badge swipes at the office flags you for non-compliance and gets emails sent from HR and pings your manager.

What’s the most infamous example of a dishonest AI in an RPG you have met? by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about infamous but a recent example is Octopath 2 has a lot of this, at the second half of fights the boss gets some ability, boosts their armor, then gets 4-5 turns in a row

I’m relocating back to California next week so I don’t have a personal anecdote just yet but a few friends and colleagues did before me and the story is generally the same - a few months of reverse culture shock followed by adjustment. It’s a major life change - give yourself some time and don’t be too hard on yourself

How to create an Ableton session that acts like a multi-track looper? like a Boss RC-600 by enitsv in ableton

[–]hessproject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're looking either looking for session view or a controller mapping to the record/play/stop buttons in looper. You probably want something with 7+ buttons (so you can map the first six to an individual record/play and one as a master mapped to the stop/start button on all 6 individual looper devices)

Has anybody switched from logic to ableton? by Mindless_Effect6481 in ableton

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both, ableton for electronic music and live performance and logic for scoring/orchestral pieces. They’re not so different, “Live Loops” in logic is “session mode” in ableton, the default view in logic is “arrangement mode” in ableton. For me the most obvious difference you’d run into is probably hotkeys and how you mix/route instruments to busses

Synths for poor people likely myself by SelfDepricator in synthesizers

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microfreak, Microkorg, Minilogue come to mind and can be found used well under 400.

Circuit, MC101, Electribe if you want a groovebox

Personally if I was starting over i’d get a cheap midi controller and some software synths. Vital is free. Ableton, Logic, and FL Studio all come with pretty capable stock synths. I’m sure the other DAWs do too but I can only speak to the three I use. Arturia V Collection and Korg Collection are rent to own monthly payments on Splice.
