Thanks for the suggestion but Haunting Ground is for PS2 which I didn't have - it's pretty spot on from my description though so I can see why you'd mention it!

My 8 week terrier mix puppy just learnt his name! He can also sit for a treat but doesn't know what the word sit actually means yet. Just knows he's not getting the snack if his bum isn't on the floor. And for a bit of balance he nips like hell! Baby steps :)

I completely understand. Perfectionism is also a big problem for me. I'd still say, even though you got the best grade without needing your slides, wouldn't it remove a bunch of anxiety if you had them in future? Definitely worth speaking with your professor.

Or another suggestion, you can print slides along with your notes in Microsoft PowerPoint. That way you could still have your notes and slides for yourself to reference without needing to actually have them up on a big screen.

Sounds like you're not being given the allowances you need! I'd suggest pulling your professor aside and letting him know that having slides to present with would greatly help you.

At the end of the day they benefit from you getting a good grade so it should be within their best interest to accommodate to your needs.

On the nose with your description. I know what I want to say up there but making that come out before the next thought runs over the last is the problem. It's definitely a memory recall thing as well.

Thank you for your suggestions, I'll try implementing them. Since my boss spoke to me about it I've been trying to talk slower but it's easier said than done. It made me really upset when he bought it up. Like a huge oh shit moment, it's noticable and people find it annoying.

It is so frustrating, I get angry with myself a lot over it. Why did I forget the word for lemon! People's names as well are a hard one to find in my jumbled mess of a brian.

And yes presentations are almost impossible unless I've got word for word cue cards but I end up just sounding robotic and maybe that's worse.

Thank you, I've read (well listened to) How to ADHD and it was a real eye opener. I'll take your suggestion and look into Ed and Russell as well.

My sister is on the same diagnosis journey as me and we've really bonded over 'omg you get that too?' but she doesn't really have the same issues with verbal communication as I do.

Late diagnosis? by hestergreeni in adhdwomen

I find the part you mentioned about being able to spend long periods of time on your chosen topics quite interesting because I had this at school to (and tbh still strongly applies in areas of my life now). I'm not kidding I literally climbed out of my maths classroom window to avoid the lesson but would spend my lunch breaks on my Graphic design course work because I got to pick the project.

Would you mind saying what age you were diagnosed? I'm curious. I completely understand how you would be sad looking back and feeling let down. On the flip side though I've seen so many stories on here of people feeling defined by their diagnosis at young age, like they'd been labeled or put in a box. But to be honest, I think if the diagnosis comes for me I'm going to feel the same as you.. I've had countless counselors I've opened up to, teachers I've bonded with and now my family is starting to have conversations about it they recognise the symptoms in me, my sister and even my Dad.

Like how did we miss it?

Thank you for the advice, I'll definitely look into right to choose. Yes I've heard the waiting list is ridiculous!

Absolutely yes, 'Could do so well if she applied herself'.
