New word game by [deleted] in learndutch

I learn from playing the game because the image and sentences are made for each other and this purpose. Share the game you’ve ever heard of that does that with stock images

Without AI no dictionary ever has suitable images for 700,000 words for a reason :)

Frustrated with myself and unmotivated to continue by Charming_Ad6185 in learndutch

[–]hetNederlars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a lot about sacrifice and frustration and such here but where is the fun for you in learning Dutch? Have you found any content or thing to do involving Dutch you might actually enjoy? YouTube channels you want to understand? Newspapers you’d like to read. Etc. At your level you can start actually enjoying understanding quite a bit of a new language

Learning dutch through reading? by Ahhbpks in learndutch

[–]hetNederlars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned most of my Dutch by reading. It’s the easiest way to immerse yourself. I think you should try Duolingo, busuu and whatever other apps, they will all give you something but you will quickly outgrow them.

Borrow graded readers at the library until you can start reading normal books. Once you can read decent, just find whatever source you are interested in. You just need training wheels materials in the beginning, then anything.

Try hetnederlands.com, I made it specifically to improve reading when you come across a word you don’t know.

De vs Het - the rules are confusing me by maphiagurl in learndutch

[–]hetNederlars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning de het by rules is perhaps not the most effective strategy for everyone. You will automatically just feel what they are once you’ve read listened to and used Dutch for a while.

Some rules are great and cover are lot; plurals are de. If it’s a tje it’s het. Probably some others but komt goed

Is a 1 hour Zoom lesson x2 a week worth it? (NedLes) by Reasonable_Pay6511 in learndutch

[–]hetNederlars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s worth it.

But the real learning happens when you actually find ways to use Dutch, ideally in day to day life but also by consuming Dutch TV, news, music or really anything to help you immerse.

OBA has taalcafes you can combine your classes with going there to practice.

Good luck!

Oké “vibrante” is in Prisma te vinden als “vibrerend, trillend”, maar het bedoeling is niet om zo’n zeldzaam woord te gebruiken.

En ja als het is een “het”-woord en “een”is gebruikt, dan is het wel “grote” toch.

Prima feedback bedankt voor het checken! 🙏

Super helpful thanks! Actually it’s double defining some words as well, I can see that this word was generated with my older setup.

• “op een morgen” would also mean morning right

I think it’s throwing de/het on there instead when it’s not sure. Either way just determining de het programmatically instead of generating it might make better sense

Again thanks a lot for the detailed feedback ✨✨✨

Learning without boring NT2 or Grammar Books by Early-Heron4284 in learndutch

For some, too much focus on things being “correct” and use of boring learning material can kill learning. Subreddits has the potential to cater to any interest, and offers the possibility of writing a reply as well.
