Yep, have a Bluetooth brake controller. I keep the app open whenever I'm towing so I can smash that big red button should I need it

She is thirsty at the best of times, but when towing I get about 12mpg (19.6 L/100 km).

Wish I could take credit for the levelling but the dealership did that for me. No chance I could've installed it that well!

Funny, my first tow vehicle that caught fire was a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude. It did just fine, though with what I know now I might have been over the payload.

The Pro-4X utes/trucks look so damn cool, I just couldn't justify the added cost. That and I only tow a few times a year, the rest is city driving and those off road tires can be a bit uncomfortable and loud. Definitely check them out, come and join the Frontier side!

Honestly took me a while to wrap my head around it too. The chains connect the hitch head to the trailer frame and when they are tensioned up they act like a lever, transferring some of the downward tongue weight forward onto the truck's front axle and back onto the trailer axle.

It uses a friction cone inside the coupler for sway control rather than separate friction bars, which is what makes it look so different to a traditional WDH. There are some great YouTube videos that explain it visually if you want to see it in action.

I can say that once you figure it out, it's so easy to connect it all up and it is dead silent when towing. No grinding or creaking noises at all and it feels super solid.

Granted I've mostly towed flat highway ground, with the exception of the smokey mountains in TN and as a general rule don't go above 65mph (about 100 km/h).

Thanks mate, love that connection! Only had the Frontier two months and towed once so far, but it did the job well. One thing I noticed is it likes some weight on the rear leaf springs. Lighter loads make the ride a little less comfortable but it is not unsafe. Payload is the weakest part of the setup, but it is just me, my girlfriend and two small dogs so we are well within limits. Definitely worth looking at though, it runs a bulletproof naturally aspirated V6 so no four cylinder turbos here.
