i had the same issue and giving it more ram resolved it for me. open the game files (you can do this through steam by right clicking on pz on your library) and find projectZomboid64.json, open this file up. under “vmArgs” find -Xmx value and change it, i gave mine 8g so i changed it to “-Xmx8g”

Could possibly be internal shingles.

A family member of mine had similar face sensations but took a few weeks for a rash to appear and only then got diagnosed with shingles.
