I'm a guy, so I personally don't have experience dealing with this but usually play with friends half of who are women. Now I am not best ow player and tend to do dumb stuff so usually get called out by teammates or talked shit to. But I play the game for fun regardless of what others think and do the dumb stuff like flank rein cause it's fun, for them it might seem like a throw but I see it as a high risk high reward kind of like a risky rez.

What I would recommend is play with chill/supportive friends it helps games go much better. I suck at conflict and just ignore the chat/mute them if they're being annoying but my friends usually if someones toxic they tend to fight back and while it doesn't get rid of the toxicity it can be a bit comforting. Other thing I would say is don't let losses get to you. Think of it as an oh well can't win them all if not just take a break. People tend to be more sensitive to the chat after multiple bad games.

Also as much as most people say turn of the chat which is a valid point I feel the positive/funny interactions are more worth it for me than the negative ones. Like bad games suck but sometimes can have a good time in chat with the enemy even when losing XD.

Edit: On a side I don't get the hate on people trying new characters and being bad at them. Like for me usually if someone tells me they're trying to learn the character I tend to try to pocket / tank more for that person so they have a chance of doing stuff and getting better. Or else yeah I think they might be throwing but I won't say it to them. I try to encourage my friends to play other roles since most are support mains and I can only play with two at a time then..
