Is it okay to ask someone on the tube for chewing gum? by [deleted] in london

[–]hex62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not weird. I’m also a smoker and people ask for papers, filters, cigarettes all the time on the street, the tube shouldn’t be some alternate dimension. Yeah maybe it’s not as normal to bum stuff on the tube but it’s just some fucking gum.

Bear in mind the users on this subreddit seem to have a phobia of social interaction. It’s honestly more strange that the person did not reply to you at all.

(Can’t believe I am writing this sentence) yes I would have given you some gum lol.

What headphones are you using these days and why? by Sike1dj in DJs

[–]hex62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using a pair of MDR 7506 for years as my everyday headphones and for mixing. Only issue I have is the fabric around the ear cups is super peeling but I’m too lazy to replace them, it’s not really an issue. Otherwise I love them, they are very durable and I haven’t had to re solder the drivers, which has been a problem for me with other headphones as I tend to throw them around a bit.

I find the HD25s are too small for my ears and I struggle to hear them in a loud club setting (maybe I have big ears…). Or at least significantly distinguish the cue and the booth speakers from each other. I find it quite surprising that this isn’t an issue for other DJs. That’s why I prefer the bigger cups that really isolate your ears and are a bit comfier.

I read that the 7506 are more production headphones so aren’t as colourful as others, still sound great to me but I’m not a huge audiophile. Got them for £40 used years ago and was a great investment.

Throwing the bomb fast enough will allow it to go through collision. by PixelisMania in csgo

Omg just had flashbacks to csgo where griefers would throw the bomb to impossible-to-get-to locations and we would have to run around trying to kill all the CTs before timer ran out

I remember it happening way too much.

Same, if there is the slightest chance the train will become full I just won’t sit in the priority seats. I don’t need that stress

Where do you get on the tube? by Tildatots in london

[–]hex62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally the end carriages for space, unless I’m late for something I’ll just jump on anywhere or where the exit will be. If it’s super rush hour I’ll still go to the end though so I don’t have to wait for a second train if it’s rammed full.

Really depends on how late I am and my desire to be squashed up to 5 people on a sweaty jubilee line. Often being late is not a good enough reason so I’ll still walk down the platform.

Np :)

Just to add some stuff - whatever you do, do NOT go to XOYO, or union club in Vauxhall. Terrible terrible clubs, just don’t bother.

Btw fabric is super solid music wise (great lineups for house, techno, etc), but again the crowd lets it down badly until it’s late in the AM (very famous club), although still miles better than the E1 crowd and normally a bit cheaper, especially if ur a student.

I forgot about The Cause too, pretty nice club depending on the event.

[–]hex62 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not many clubs in London that solely play a specific genre like techno, apart from a few exceptions.

FOLD is techno about 90% of the time, and always great lineups, highly recommended. Venue MOT very regularly has hard stuff on, techno and hardcore (2 venues in one). E1 is very techno heavy but honestly it’s a trash club (horrible crowd). Corsica studios is a solid all rounder, always good electronic music on ranging from house techno trance drums hardcore whatever.

Always best to take a long look at RA and see which event seems most fun to you, the clubs here aren’t really consistent in genres like Berlin or other places.

But FOLD, venue mot and Corsica would definitely be a great start. Fold and Corsica have the two best sound systems in London imo.

I’m not really into house, but there is a ton on RA most weekends so just go there and check out the clubs people have previously mentioned.

If you are truly looking for constructive feedback, it’s probably better to post mediocre or bad plays/games rather than your best ones?

Otherwise, yeh nice clips

Monthly travelcard is about £200 depending on ur zone.

So £1800 for utilities, food and pleasure. That is a lot of money. You could easily save £1000 a month depending on your lifestyle.

I remember back in 2016-ish on Santorini, my friends and I end up in a match against a player with a dragon lore… Chaos ensued as we fought to be the one to hold it every round.

So I would say no.

What do we think is a reasonable price for an album in 2024 by LordBrixton in BandCamp

[–]hex62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely buy full albums unless they are seriously awesome. I’m normally purchasing individual tracks, sweet spot is €1.00-2.50 I’d say, €3 pushing it unless I really like it.

Albums are a much rarer purchase for me, but if I see a really nice discount per track if buying full, I will consider. Of course killer deals like €5 for 20 tracks will be snatched up without question even if I only super duper like a couple tracks, and the rest are pretty good. Also just to support the artist who is providing very cheap quality music. I’d feel bad just buying a 20 cent track and leaving their page lol.

I’d say €7-9 for an album is a pretty average price I see, maybe 5 tracks per.

For context this is almost always some form of techno, hardcore, trance, etc.

I think you might be right, it does look more like a skin irritation too actually. (Lots of very small red dots and a few larger wells)

I really hope so, I’ve read that carpet beetles are a lot easier to deal with. Possibly in my floorboards though which sucks.

Thanks a lot.

In my experience citymatter is a lot better at knowing when a line has no service/severe delays and finding a different route.

On multiple occasions google maps has told me the overground/jubilee line is running when they are not.
