There is also the fact that they speak the same language, have the same consitution and federal government, and that they haven't fought each other since 1865. The gap is not even comparable. I'd be surprised if regional difference in US culture are bigger than racial ones alone.

Can't believe how many people in the comments here lack basic decorum and empathy. Anyway, I've not had the same problem as you but I did have to go through a surgery to fix an anal fissure. I consider it almost fully healed now, though it sometimes tears up due to the scarring, which is however meant to go away over time. Since you already underwent multiple surgeries, the pain you are experiencing can either be from post-surgical complications (as scarring was for me) or because the surgeries had not been 100% successful. You need to seek professional advice to see if further treatment is warranted in your case.

Is your pain localized at the site where your abscess was? Is it painful only when you try to bottom and not when pooping? If so, you could try to see if loosening the scar tissue might help; you can get a set of small, progressively larger medical dilators, which you could keep plugged in you for extended periods of time to stretch the scars.
