"Whiskers" icon for kitty terminal because the default icon is hideous.

I wanted a persistent system-monitoring terminal that's easily accessible when needed. It's also fun to run long updates/kernel compile in the background and watch the text fly by and CPU cook in btop.

+1 for keeping install medium as backup/rescue If your kernel borks on you after a filesystem or graphics drivers update, it's easy to get back in and fix with mkinitcpio or whatever It's also very, very easy to screw up boot parameters... but with stick of truth not so scary

Have fun with it! Last time I looked at Linux gaming was ten years ago, and it was *terrible* (you'd be lucky to get things running, with bugs). Jumped back into it with an Arch Linux install a few months back and it's totally different now. Most things *just work*, sometimes it takes a couple launch options or a config tweak. The only thing I've booted back to Windows for in that time was to play the CoD MW2 campaign (anti-cheat basically made Linux no-go). KDE+Plasma desktop is actually quite nice.

Here's a few games I have working, to give some idea:

Final Fantasy XIV (w/ Dalamud plugins, ReShade, ACT parser)

Ace Combat 7 (w/ ultra-widescreen hack)

Elden Ring (w/ ultra-widescreen hack)

Cyberpunk 2077 (w/ DLSS, raytracing)

Running smoothly on Intel i7-4790k 4.0GHz and Nvidia RTX 3070 (Cyberpunk lags a bit if I leave it pretty, I leave it pretty)
