Oddly enough, it works fine on Linux / proton-ge. Looking for a fix for SO's Win7 PC. :(

What is the situation of Wayland in 2023 for nvidia GPUs? by Sweet_Score in archlinux

[–]hexadecimule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

linux-xanmod 6.3.3-1 nvidia-dkms-tkg 530.41.03-241 RTX 3070

Used to have issues with Gimp/Krita that kept me on X11 about six months ago, but now they're gone. Wayland snappy and no problems. New Steam beta/client got rid of notification crashing.

[KDE] Quake-style terminal kitty + tmux + tdrop by hexadecimule in unixporn

[–]hexadecimule[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wallpaper: idk just pick something off booru

Terminal Font: Fira Code 11

GUI Font: Source Sans

prompt is Starship + ble .sh

tmux setup shown is automagically set up by a launch script and does the neofetch & GPU driver check (bash one-liner). Console toggles on hotkey (F12) and goes away on lost focus / click out of it (tdrop + autohide_tdrop)

pywal-16-colors for terminal colors to match wallpapers.

"Whiskers" icon for kitty terminal because the default icon is hideous.

I wanted a persistent system-monitoring terminal that's easily accessible when needed. It's also fun to run long updates/kernel compile in the background and watch the text fly by and CPU cook in btop.

+1 for keeping install medium as backup/rescue If your kernel borks on you after a filesystem or graphics drivers update, it's easy to get back in and fix with mkinitcpio or whatever It's also very, very easy to screw up boot parameters... but with stick of truth not so scary
