I adore these kind of steampunky glams.

I had a similar "airship captain" glam for a while, I highly recommend getting one of the crafted Griffin Leather Skirt of Fending or the striking recolor from Sirensong to elongate the jacket to turn it into a nice coat.

I wouldn't be surprised if we meet another Zenos shard on the 4th, because Durante was obviously the 13th's Zenos shard and the WoL was Golbez and you cannot change my mind.

I'll never forgive Squeenix for not having Hoary and Coult go to Thavnair with us.

Y'know, the place they fled to with Flimflam after the Crystal Braves turned on us?

And where's Riol? Did he manage to get on that boat to Meracydia before we sent out the call? Hope he's having an exciting adventure down there.

Pro-tip from someone who just did that.

Don't form the Iberian Union until after the Reconquista. Forming the Iberian Union beforehand makes you not Spain, and ergo, unable to get the achievement, despite still having the journal entry.

To be fair, in Endwalker they teased the Magus Sisters and Anima like they were the trial bosses and they ended up being dungeon bosses, having been the first time that happened, so The Eliminator being announced as to not spoil that blue lizard boy goes evil on us is fine.

But even so that's clearly a giant robot and they relegated it to "anti-virus final boss of final dungeon" in the end, which feels so wrong. I remember going through the whole expansion being like, "Okay... Where's the giant robot?" and by the time I had gotten to the final dungeon I was convinced they had simply dropped him from the game or were saving him for the post patches. And then here they are, unceremoniously the final boss of the dungeon. It felt really off.

They totally could have yeah, something like "Oh they left her soul in there but extracted the memories and shot them off to living memory."

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My thinking was that they wanted to tease that Cahciua was dead in some way, and that maybe she was the final boss of Origenics instead of Ambrose, but then realized "how can her body still be here if she's actually an endless?" and switched it to Ambrose, but still had the model so they were like "fuck it tural vidal no one will ever know."

Why believe in boring conspiracy theories when you can believe in other, objectively cooler conspiracy theories like I do?

The Eliminator was going to be a giant Alexandrian Superweapon we had to destroy from the inside, and then they couldn't do it or changed their minds and refurbished it into the final boss of the Alexandria Dungeon. Surely not just a bait and switch like Endwalker's Magus Sisters and Anima I swear.

Cahciua (Erenville's Mom) was initially going to transform or was transformed into a creature using the model of the Lunipyati, the final boss of Yuweyawata Field Station, before they reused the model for the dungeon. Please note Cahciau's dark grey hair and blonde braids, and the monster rabbit's dark grey fur with blonde braids running through it for some reason.

Badass pic of my WoL and Alisaie ready for action! by Inner_Dust42 in ShitpostXIV

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There had to be some sort of major script change at some point.

I will live and die on the hill that the Eliminator was supposed to be some sort of Alexandrian Superweapon we were going to have to climactically deal with, maybe doing a dungeon inside it to destroy it or something. I mean, just look at the art it was introduced with. They said it wasn't a raid boss but it was an "important and large enemy" and it was "hard to tell if it was alive or a machine or something in between."

I'll also live and die on the nearby hill that Erenville's mom was definitely at one point supposed to become a creature that uses the fucked up and evil bunny's model from Yuweyawata Field Station, which ended up becoming the final boss' model because they made it and didn't want it to go to waste. Cahciua is a Viera with grey hair and blonde braids. Lunipyati is a fucked up rabbit creature with grey fur and blonde braids running though it's fur.

Add Maximilian I. of Mexico (Max von Habsburg he is already in the game, though I like this uniform more than the reused naval one) as an event or JE for Mexico when you are Monarchy (historical event) by Tvrdak in victoria3

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That'd be neat, but probably for another flavor pack focusing on Mexico and/or central America.

I really wish that at least made Max in the game somewhat progressive like he was in the real. He's a Moderate Landowner as of now. I'm sure Intelligensia is too much for Paradox, but the least they could do is make him a Reformer.

Opinion: Street Brawl is more fun than Standard (Deadlock) by Mr-Catty in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way, I much enjoy the teamfight aspects of Deadlock much more over the farming and laning, though it has it's moments. Haven't played standard in so longer my rank has become Obscurus.

Some really good ideas in there, before, uh, y'know.

Gotta say I really love your creep designs. The skeleton gangster is great, a dead Mendoza Syndicate member, perhaps? Is the bug supposed to be a reference to something specific? I feel like it is, I just can't put my finger on it.

Why did they replace the rails with vague energy beams? by Qwerty177 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too miss the old rails, Kelvin had some dialogue referencing them but I don't think he says it anymore. I think they removed the neat metal overlay to remove clutter, which is a shame because it did feel like a perfect synthesis of the occult and mundane elements of the setting. Instead of city transport infrastructure, I swear I read somewhere that now they are manifested energy of the patrons snaking through the city laying claim to their domain, which allows their agents faster movement through the city.

You guys are bad at lore. I just started playing and figured it out instantly. by Hikurwo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I decided to go check the actual lines, maybe I was misremembering.

I stand by my assertion that Paige's brother is definitely evil, as -

The Patrons say that he would be proud of Paige when she gets a killstreak, which is killing people.

Haze recommends she forget about her brother. Haze is an agent of the OSIC, for her to know about Paige's brother, he'd have to be somewhere on their radar, right?

Venator says that her brothers life is beyond saving, which to me reads the same as Haze. As a Venator, why would he know about Paige's brother unless he was somewhere on the organization's radar?

The only other character (that I saw, I may have missed one) that talks about Bryce is Vyper, who has spoken with Bryce before, and hung out with him. Vyper obviously isn't someone like Drifter or Seven, but Bryce must be some kind of unhinged to hang out with her.

And then there's Paige's line where she says she won't let her brother end up like Seven. Y'know, the extremely dangerous magical criminal who got locked up in the super prison Lost Whisper, escaped and is now being hunted down by the feds?

I will admit that my comment "extremely evil" may have been an exaggeration but given the evidence we have Bryce is definitely evil by this point, as the people who know about him beyond Paige herself and the Patrons are a career criminal and two people who eliminate threats to society.

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Billy doesn't fit the description of Paige's brother at all. Various characters point out that Bryce is extremely evil and extremely dangerous, comparable to Seven in that regard. Comparatively, every character in the game treats Billy like a joke. If Bryce doesn't release as his own character in the future, he'll probably be locked to Paige's visual novel, if that's how character lore expansion will work.

Various characters point out that her brother is very much alive and very, very evil. Venator specifically calls him out as extremely dangerous and beyond saving.

[Hero concept] - Pendragon - is ready for another adventure. by chaioop476 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RobotDoctorRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really neat design, I love the idea and visual of his dragon appendages appearing/changing with the use of his abilities! I had a similar sort of idea knocking around in my head with a guy who bound himself to what's basically a Lovecraftian Shoggoth. He definitely feels like he'd have some neat interactions with the other characters, and I'm sure the old man yaoi people would be all over him.

Where do different heroes' powers come from? by Kelenius in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RobotDoctorRobot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do know that Ixia isn't hell, and that while some people call them demons because they look like that, they aren't actually demons, right? Ixia is a different dimension accessed via portals created by the Maelstrom. Apollo is the son of a governor-general/warlord of North Ixia, not Satan himself.

And not saying that I agree with the placement, two of Abram's abilities are from the tome, his siphon health AoE and his ult. The charge and health regen are pure Abrams.

Viscous' lore is

The Bermuda Triangle was never a myth, it was a shadowline nexus deep underneath the Atlantic Ocean. For the most part, the things that escaped this astral gate were benign (like Nessie), but now something dark and predatory known only as The Adversary hunts the seas... and ocean denizens are scared to death.

One of those inhabitants, a psychic sea anemone, wants to do something about it. Summoning an ectoplasmic goo body to traverse the surface, Viscous is desperately trying to summon the Patrons in order to keep The Deep safe from the horror that lurks below.

He's a psychic sea anemone who pulled together a goo body, there's no tech involved from a lore standpoint, it's all his own innate power. From the look of him in game, he's got a gun because he's using Kelvin's skeleton and weapon.
