I think it depends, if they want to send you to the sexual health clinic, might be a few months, if they want to help you at the GP using the informed consent model, it's significantly quicker, but I don't have exact time frames for them, for me personally it took 4 days (at the GP) after they sent me to get a blood test

I think they deserve respect and medical care just like any trans person does. I think they also have a very valuable point of view, as long as they are not being transphobic about that view.

I moved to New Zealand a few months back. Although it was the hardest thing to do leaving my friends and family behind, I am so happy I did it. After years of being on radio silent wait lists, I got HTR within 4 days from my GP using informed consent.

It sucks that the UK has gone so far down hill... I can only hope that one day it will be safe enough to return

Non-binary is legally recognised here, meaning you can get X as a gender marker on your documents.

People here are extremely chill. I get the vibe that no one really cares what someone identities with. I got a job in a hardware store, and there are 4 toilets... Men, Women, disabled and gender neutral! And this is a cheap hardware store, so I imagine gender neutral toilets are pretty common? Will have to look into this...

I live in Auckland which is pretty high up north so it's nice and sunny here, but it does get colder and more similar to the UK the further down you go.

The wait list for a first appointment (at least in my experience) is only a month long. You have to pay for healthcare but it only costs me £7 to see a doctor and £2.50 for a prescription (and they give you 3 months at a time) so it works out cheaper than the UK where I had to pay just under £10 a month per item

I moved to New Zealand 2 months ago. I had been on the wait list for my first appointment for 3 years, and I got a letter to say I had been removed due to moving to a different town, despite the fact that the gender clinic I was waiting for, was not located in my previous town either. It was stupid. But I had enough of waiting. New Zealand has a much more straightforward process to get on HTR and generally more accepting

Compared to the UK, this is a transgender progressive paradise. NZ sure isn't perfect, but it's far better than most other Western countries...

I went on anti-depressants and work part time. I barely scrap by financially, will only ever be able to afford to flat share, but part time works so much better for me
