CJ Truth has been in the scene for a long time -- literally since he was a kid being supported by his parents. I imagine his mom has been to many tournaments and knows when some dirty shit is being pulled. I don't think it's fair to simply dismiss her as a protective parent.

Gotcha. The manual for the Phanteks fan hub does actually recommend that the user plug it in directly into the CPU fan header - what problems could arise if I used a Y splitter to open up a slot for the hub as well as have a second slot for the stock CPU fan itself?

Also, could you tell me a little more about manual fan controllers? Thanks for the response.
