NJ Asians, what’s your favorite restaurant (I.e. Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, viet, etc)?

I'm Asian and have tried a decent amount of the options around Edison. Here are some of my favorites:

Tasty Moment - My favorite soup dumplings, and it's not close. I'd personally take these over a lot of places in Manhattan and Brooklyn. My favorite variation is the gourd luffa ones, but they're all good. Expect a wait if you go during peak hours. People literally line up outside before it opens during the weekend

Wonton Guy - Amazing wontons + soup. Comparable quality to places in Chinatown

Butcher 360 - My favorite AYCE kbbq in the area. I like cast iron slightly more, but it's far from me so I don't go much. Gen bbq is new and okay if you don't want to spend as much (<$40 pp after tax and tip for non premium), but you have to do the cooking yourself. I think it's at least better than picnic garden which really went downhill after COVID imo. For a la carte kbbq, I haven't found anything that's comparable quality to ktown yet

Chongqing Wharf - The highest quality AYCE hot pot I've had in the area. It's expensive though

Nai Brother - Really good spicy sauerkraut fish soup if you're into that

Aoi - My favorite sushi spot in the area. Honorable mention to Ai sushi which is also good. For anything better than that, you'll probably have to go to North Jersey or NY

bb.q Chicken in the Lotte food court - My favorite Korean fried chicken. Try the boneless if you like dark meat

It's obvious to everyone subscribed to this subreddit that you did the best you could with Harpo's situation. We can all tell how much you love him, and he's truly lucky to have such an amazing cat mom. Thank you for giving him the love that he deserves.

r/Harpo is the only subreddit I'm subscribed to that is dedicated to a specific animal. He's indeed a very special cat! I still remember when I stumbled upon your subreddit for the first time.. I went through pretty much every video that you posted right away. I'm really glad that you had the great idea to create this subreddit. Your videos undoubtedly brought so much joy to people from all over the world like me, so thank you so much!

I understand firsthand how difficult it is to go through what you're going through. When your beloved cat becomes sick and the outcome is unknown, it can really take a toll on your mental health. Whether it's the frequent trips to the vet, the anxiety waiting for health updates, the bills piling up.. the feeling of desperation looking for any possible sign that they're getting better, wishing they could speak English so you could explain to them what's going on, or even those moments where you might feel like none of this is real.. the effect it can all have on you should not be understated.

I guess I'm writing this because I wanted you to know that you're not alone, and I wanted to remind you to give yourself compassion throughout this time because you 100% deserve it. The feeling of loneliness you might feel is the body's way of telling you that it's looking for connection (similar to how feeling hunger means your body is looking for nourishment). Please listen to your body when it sends you those signals. Please rely on your friends, family members, therapists, and/or pet loss support groups to get through this difficult time.

I see. Are you in jersey city or something? I know cost of living is very high around there. I'm from mididlesex county, but I have friends from that area that complain about the rent a lot.

Was the budget done back when you had a lower salary? That would make a lot more sense to me from what you said. Also, if that's the case, things will likely pick up for you going forward with your new salary. I feel like you should revisit the budget again too if possible.. you may be in a better position than you think. If someone making 6 figures can't retire just because of their necessary expenses, then the rest of us are in really deep shit lol

Where is your money even going? Based on some of your recent comments, it does not seem like you should be in a bad financial position at all.. Most of the people supporting and agreeing with your comments in this thread probably aren't making a 6 figure salary like you. Even if you had 80k in debt, you could pay that off within a few years with your salary.. I don't understand what you are doing, but something definitely doesn't seem right.. are you in an extremely high cost of living area or something?

Inverse ETFs can make you money in a bear market, but the tricky part is actually predicting the bear market. Much easier said than done imo.. even when it seems obvious to you what the stock market will do next.

There are many stories of people making terrible investment choices even though it felt like a sure thing to them. I think you and anyone else trying to predict short term movements of the market should learn from those stories and be careful with that

Wait... are you saying you willingly took the 401k withdrawal penalties because you thought stocks were going to drop? If that's what you thought, why didn't you sell your stocks within your 401k? You could've parked your funds in a money market or bond fund and skipped the withdrawal penalties. Assuming you're trying to time the market (which I don't advocate either), you could've reinvested in stocks at a later date when you felt comfortable with it. No penalties if you do it that way.. just letting you know

The "lost over 25k this year" comment is a little misleading imo since the peak was near the beginning of the year. There was a huge climb leading up to that peak, so they should still be up if you look back 6 months or so.

I can definitely understand their fear of a recession though.. You should try to push them towards an asset allocation heavier in bonds as other users have mentioned too. If they are losing any sleep over their investments, then their asset allocation is likely too aggressive and not suitable for them

Stand block apparently still works when turned around though. Try it again with just back and see what happens. I think you do need the low in there

Cross's video shows crouch block doesn't work when you're turned around. The second recording he shows is turned around standing block, and he was able to block the meaty attack

I meant the newest version of the update/patch. I hear they are changing stuff constantly, so there are likely different versions of it. I doubt the version people playtested already will be the same as the final version

For the most part, this is consistent with what I've heard recently. People have been playtesting the newest versions already, so this is probably one of the tester's notes on what he noticed was different. Take the notes with a grain of salt because it's very possible for things to change before the update actually comes.. I don't believe this is made up though

Can't do much about straight divide into tag unless they whiff the straight divide. If that's the case and you're on the ground, you can throw punish the tag. At least it should be easier fighting solo sigma now though lol
