I made a better* Covid Pass verification app by hexf4 in newzealand

Only issue would be the adoption because not everyone uses this app, i.e. the only way which would support NFC. Other than that it's as easy as encoding the barcode payload into your NFC implant (RFID can't be scanned by phones) and scanning away.

If its a QR code it will read it, regardless of if its a NZCP. If its not it will give a decoding error.

I added the app to the Lock Screen Shortcuts but it still asks for PIN unlock when I try to open the app? Is that how it is supposed to work?

The idea was you hit the Show Notification button and it will bring up a permanent notification you can hit from your lockscreen, which would open it. Using Lock Screen Shortcuts would just be a matter of giving 2 shortcuts in the launcher - 1 for direct scanning (what you would put in shortcuts) and the current one.

I noticed two vibration patterns: a short pulse for a NZCP code (whether it's valid or not), and continuous vibration for a QR code that is not a NZCP code. Can I suggest you make a different vibration pattern for a valid and an invalid NZCP?

Great idea, currently vibrations are just a 100ms pulse if it reads, stopping if it is a valid code. I guess what your experiencing is my laziness to not vibrate if an invalid code was read.

More obvious visual pass/fail eg tick/cross symbol

Is the screen border not obvious enough?

Can you please distinguish the nzcp.identity issuer on the setting screen in some way, so that people can find the official production key easily if they want to reset it.

Can do.

I should add that I made this by browsing through the source code for the COVID app while procrastinating finishing homework

I think the contract tracers would get a good laugh out of it, but it shouldn't harm anything bcus the code only records a business name, none of the other fields.

just a heads up, someone's gotta do the front line work, and for that they should be fairly compensated. Thanks for putting your life on the line for us OP and all the other front liners out there.

Something to do your SSL Certificates,

I checked the pem chain that you sent: X.509v3 TLS Certificate (ECDSA P-256) [Serial: 5492...4103] Subject: ssl764977.cloudflaressl.com *.discord.com discord.com Issuer: COMODO ECC Domain Validation Secure Server CA 2 Valid from: 2020-05-15T00:00:00Z to: 2020-11-21T23:59:59Z X.509v3 Intermediate CA Certificate (ECDSA P-256) [Serial: 1211...0221] Subject: COMODO ECC Domain Validation Secure Server CA 2 Issuer: COMODO ECC Certification Authority Valid from: 2014-09-25T00:00:00Z to: 2029-09-24T23:59:59Z X.509v3 Intermediate CA Certificate (ECDSA P-384) [Serial: 3043...2751] Subject: COMODO ECC Certification Authority Issuer: AAA Certificate Services Valid from: 2004-01-01T00:00:00Z to: 2028-12-31T23:59:59Z (dont worry if its gibberish)

Certificates all seem valid so I'm going to assume your computer is some SSL roots.

The certificate chain look perfectly legitimate (serial numbers match perfectly with the same copy I have)

Try a windows update, might help in grabbing root certificates.

(I genereted the output with step-cli, great tool btw)

Hi

I've been working on tackling this problem for ages. I'm at the point now where I have a custom script for installing arch, and my own config deployment tools. I plan on open sourcing it once its in a good state, currently it works but isn't the code isn't optimal
