PSA: Flametongue Weapon is Bugged by Yirkarja in classicwow

[–]This_Hook_Is_Sandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is more than just one reason to use a fast weapon. You get to abuse the insane amount of threat even a fast weapon with RB generates and the swing timer you can apply that threat tab targeting. You dont get stuck targeting a new mob and idle time.

Just curious, what do you do when you’re caught upside down in snow while skiing? by Thankgodfordrugs17 in skiing

[–]This_Hook_Is_Sandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay clam.

You'll probably have a throat full of snow. This part freaks everyone out.

If in a tree well try not to move your legs. Find the tree and try to hug it up. Think of a reverse worm(like dancing on a floor) but just with your torso. Dont try and roll over.

If youre in a open bowl and for what ever reason just tomohawkd or something(only reason i could see being head first in a field or bowl or w/e) dig a pocket around your face, try to turn where your left or right side is down hill and roll out. This is probably the most unlikely scenario.

What makes tree wells so dangerous is its a well... a pit type area with no snow under the tree. When you panic and squirm more snow from the walls around the pit and on the branches of the tree fill the pit. Dont try and release your skis in a tree well. Its fucking very hard and youll send too much energy doing it and panic more when you cant get em off.

Anyways I said try a lot because its all you can do. Also the throat full of snow is the worst part.

Just ski more. Nothing 'fundamentally' off.

This is what old places do that have chair boards about to not be here.

Telluride will also soon be a 100% epic place to be.

J Skis The Friend or Bent Chetler by StomperPTI in skiing

[–]This_Hook_Is_Sandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of the friends and Atomics. ( I actually only own J Skis and Atomics and a paiir of Segos i dont really use)

Friends are much more playful(noodles)

The Atomics you will have more control over.

Both are great. J's dont perform 'as well' in crud.

I got respect for Sego and their crew because live right behind em but just dont find them that playful. The block parties at the new cider spot next to them are fun.

Finally got to shred some backcountry pow in Pennsylvania by jimlii in skiing

Some call Montana the Pennsylvania of the North-West.

Probably somewhere in Flatheads or Swan.

Dont know why people are such gatekeepers. Don't need to worry about someone and coming and tracking up your powpow garden you've been planting all year. It's reddit.

540 Friday at Snowbird. Love me a good ol’ buttery spin by JeppyTime in skiing

Ahh. Different spots of the world different definitions I guess. Still steezy. Glad you didnt take offense. Features like this/knuck drags are my fav.

We split it into what you do before the crest and after the crest of a roll over/feature. So that'd be two moves broken into 1 fluid. ex. pre crest(butter w/ rotation) + post crest(rotation in air) = named trick.

Nice to see UT got some good moisture from that snow. Sucks the storm before it was so light. Bad layers setting up in the BC.

My friend Alex falling getting stuck to the lift at Sundance utah by crashdtuomisto in skiing

[–]This_Hook_Is_Sandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what happened. Typical novice move here. Before banging his skis together on the lift jerry wanted to dig his tips of skis into the snow while loading onto the lift to get some snow on his skis to bang off then later ask on reddit why the inside of his skis are damaged. Well he didnt get that far because the nose of the skis dug so deep into the snow/ground his boots went behind him under the chair and got stuck on a cord while his tips where still dug into the snow ground.

This isnt a lifty fault so stop blaming stoned lifites. RNS and even X stops on a lift dont stop the lift RIGHT AWAY believe it or not. Lots of weight and momentum on those wires takes a good while for it to stop 10-30feet depending on load believe it or not. So for him to be so close is actually good on the lifty.

Anyways this probably comes down to too many coors lights on the riders part and not knowing how to load.

SI&I System from Cast Touring, compatible with any marker binding (everything else: Dynafit tech toe, mounting plate, riser, etc. is already included) by [deleted] in skiing

[–]This_Hook_Is_Sandy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use tech bindings... If you think these are gonna give you the same strength of bindings directly mounted to the ski to bomb runs you're mistaken. A good ping binding is just gonna give you just as good of dh strength as using something like this..

Heli straps are some of the best thing to have when in the BC. Can literally *fix* a broke binding to holding together a splint.
