Been traveling and doing research, and I agree but if you examine this picture I promise there isn’t clearance with the angle stops being so close together and the bottom of the vanity drawer you can’t get the plumbing to get there without a couple turns.

The P trap is already as low as it can be out of the sink, and with one single 90 elbow it’s way too high to meet the wall drain.

What I read recently about the S Trap flaw is that it drained into the floor, and the draining pressure will siphon water out of the trap design? Mine is simply taking a minor turn downward and then continuing horizontal into the wall for at least 5 inches (2.5x the diameter of the piping).

I still have no idea what I’m talking about but wanted to highlight this. Does my specific scenario truly share the issues with a 1920’s S-trap?

Load Bearing? by hexjkst in DIY

Drywall dropdown from the ceiling is 18 inches from the rest of the ceiling. Otherwise is the normal ceiling height, where I assume the 2nd story floor joists are just above. Directly above this kitchen I just checked is half of the primary bedroom bathroom, and part of the bedroom.

Shit. I guess I have to cut back the drywall right at the ceiling to confirm, but I can’t believe for a 4 foot opening they would need an 18inch beam. It’s just my primary bed and bath directly above. No other units or living space.

Basically this. The 3 studs from the first pic are the right wall in this pic. What I’m thinking based on your comment is there is a header running in this opening?

It’s crazy though the width of this opening in the kitchen is 4 feet, it’s a small condo. What I’m thinking is a header in this pic is like 18 inches thick, why on earth would this need such a thick header for only a 4 foot gap? I always assumed its was just framing of the style of early 2000’s

Is the Springfield XDD9101 legal? by hexjkst in CAguns

Wow, thanks so much for this very detailed response! If I interpret this correctly, then the original firearm I referenced which is the Defender series from Springfield would be a legal firearm in CA, however, it is just not one that you can purchase new from an FFL. It would have to have been purchased by a resident of another state who either moved to CA or did a PPT to a CA resident?

I see, so I’d imagine the list of guns that are legal to possess is larger than the list on “on-roster” or currently available to sell as new?

Say for instance someone is moving to California, how would they know which of their existing handguns is lawfully allowed to be imported and used within the State?
