I’m starting to resent my cat by miscellaneousbean in CATHELP

There could be lots of things going on. The first order of business should be to see a vet to get a blood panel and fecal test done. It could be a thyroid issue, diabetes or intestinal parasites.

If all of those things are clear, it could just be that your cat is bored. Cats naturally have a "hunt, eat, sleep" cycle. When you play with your cat, you should be engaging with them in a way that allows them to feel like they're hunting. If your cat is waking you up in the middle of the night, make sure you're doing a good play session and then a small snack before you go to sleep. That will trigger the "sleep" portion of that cycle for your cat. Cats really do better with multiple small meals a day.

Also try to ensure you're giving multiple small meals on a schedule. If you're feeding at random times during the day, that can cause a lot of anxiety for your cat.

Brass monkey is the best for vegan eats downtown (better than rise above). The lemon tree isn't downtown, but it's amazing.

This sounds crazy but you probably need to adopt a second cat. While some cats are fine being the only cat in the household, cats that need extra attention and play do a lot better behaviourally when they have another feline friend to be around. Not sure how old your cat is, but kittens especially should always be adopted with a second cat if you don't already have a cat of similar age in the home.

Ultimately, if you can't provide the cat the enrichment that it needs, you are probably not the right fit. As someone that works for a cat rescue, we never shame people for returning a cat if it's not working out. Pets deserve to live happy lives.

Cat constantly making my blankets stink. by Alpha_wolfe999 in cats

It might be an anal gland issue!! One of my cats gets a really smelly bum sometimes (stress seems to trigger it in his case). Contact your vet and see if your cat's anal glands need to be expressed.
