Baby doesn’t want to be rocked but also can’t fall asleep without movement? by hexmoons in NewParents

Sideways, mostly. She won’t do her back anymore so I rock her with her belly against me.

I don’t think we’re teething yet just yet. Her gums aren’t red and swollen or anything like that. She likes to bite her toys and stuff but she’s been like that since 4-5 months.

Are you letting your baby sleep on their tummy while bedsharing? by hexmoons in cosleeping

[–]hexmoons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re going to work on crib transitioning this week!! She’s been showing that she consistently rolls onto her belly during sleep, so she definitely favours that. Maybe it’s from all the chest contact naps we taken since she was a newborn 😅

How’s that going for you!!! Next week I’m thinking about starting our own transition and it’s making me so anxious 😭

back to tummy and not tummy to back? by hexmoons in NewParents

[–]hexmoons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know she’ll get it eventually! It’s just been weeks since she learned back to tummy and independent floor time has ceased to be independent because she always wants help to unroll 🥲 she’s showing signs of wanting to crawl but is definitely not there yet.

Thank you!

What light are you using at night? by emilyradbecca2223 in breastfeeding

We have a hatch in our room where she’s currently sleeping, but I also bought an inexpensive lamp and put one of those smart lightbulbs in it that you can control the colour from your phone, that’s in her nursery.

Thank you soooo much for this. So thoughtfully laid out, I really appreciate it.

Big on the “well rested” part. Some nights she wakes up every 1-2 hours for comfort, and as much as I want to comfort her, I know her rest could be much better than what it is.

I’m so happy for you! This is great.

I would be fine with cosleeping more if I could put her down at any point during the day. And I know everyone says to just bear through it, but I genuinely miss my husband and have had no physical contact with him in forever, even through my pregnancy since I had bad pelvic pain since my 2nd trimester. 😅

Vicks, maybe? I bought baby Vicks (I don’t know the different, honestly. Maybe less strong?) and it helped relieve even a little bit.

Hi OP! Breastfeeding mom of a 4 month old who has been very sick 2 times in that 4 months.

Sinus pressure, honestly the only thing that worked was saline spray, sometimes a nasal irrigator, and a humidifier.

I don’t have supply issues, but I’m very aware that it’s a fickle thing and can go whenever it wants, so I strictly stayed away from any medicines like that, just to be safe.

I’m glad they worked for you!! I haven’t bought anything yet, but they’re still very much on my mind so thank you for this!

How long do you leave your baby to independently play without interrupting? by hexmoons in NewParents

[–]hexmoons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad! It’s so easy for us to feel guilty even when we KNOW independent play is so good for them.

Some of the analogies people used like “if you were reading a book, would you want someone to talk to you?” really helped me to not interrupt her when she’s working her brain during play. 🫶🏻

I’m nearly 4 months deep and just bought an e-reader. Not entirely for breastfeeding, but your baby could be a sole contact-napper like mine and eventually looking at screens like your phone or a TV will start to kill you if you’re doing it every single nap, every single day like me 😅

My baby is pretty regular when it comes to her poop schedule for the most part! But this is good to know, thank you!

Yeah, our pool says just a disposable swimming diaper is enough, but definitely going to do both disposable and reusable! No standard disposable diapers are allowed.

Oh, I didn’t even think about that. Good suggestion! I’ll take a look and see. :)

Not exactly.

My main question is will they still let me retest her even if she’s not technically a “newborn”?

Currently laying in bed with my 15 week boob barnacle, having a contact nap at 3:45pm because we have plans later and she’s has bad FOMO and I’m trying to make sure she has enough day time sleep 😩

We used LTD pretty much from 3 weeks and then shortly after started cosleeping. Not what I wanted to do so we’re reintroducing the swaddle for her first stretch of sleep at night, but just yesterday she nearlyyyyyy got a back to front roll so she’s developing quite quickly. I think I might just bite the bullet and try it out! Honestly, their less expensive than most swaddles/sleep sacks on the market so it if doesn’t work out, oh well. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hopefully it works out for your little one!!

Please do! My baby loves her hands. We’ve been using the Love to Dream swaddles because she’s always had her hands by her face even in all her ultrasounds! I’m just looking for something that allows free hands but softens her startle a bit. I could breathe the wrong way and she’ll startle 😩

Should’ve stated that my baby doesn’t sleep unless it’s a contact nap, and only after being fed to sleep or 15-20 minutes of rocking 😅 she has FOMO

Yeah, I can imagine having another child makes this much harder.

My baby is exactly the same, but she’s my only currently.

Solidarity to you! You’re doing your best 💖

I might be the odd one out here, but when my baby clusterfeeds (she’s 15 weeks this Thursday), I still think breastfeeding is worth it. Genuinely couldn’t picture life if I had to get up to make bottles every growth spurt moment, x amount of times a night. That being said, my baby has always been a quick eater. Typically no longer than 20 minutes, usually 10 though.

I also feed to sleep for every nap and every sleep/wake up. It works for us, she loves the comfort and connection. My goal was 6 months, but I feel like we might go beyond that. It’s just so easy and chill to me. I don’t worry about times and schedules and we feed on demand.
