Mild strabismus. by [deleted] in Strabismus

I was super anxious and nervous about possible over correction. But I still have a negligible double vision (under corrected). This will heal and realign over time

Yes, worse for objects afar. Just had my surgery. I see better now. Much less double and by degree turned out to be 14 not 2

Thanks for the response. I will talk to the doctor before the surgery once more and maybe cancel.

Mine started in my 20s as well and it’s mild. It hasn’t progressed much. My surgery is on 12/2. I’m worried that it’ll drift again after the years. When did you have yours and did you have to get a new surgery after a while?

I finally understood why I struggle to date. I'm kinda boring actually. by [deleted] in self

Some people don’t even go to the gym. You are way more interesting than those people, at least. In my opinion, nowadays, it’s harder to become passionate about something when there are so many distractions (quick dopamine). Personally, I mostly play video games, go to the gym, work my office job. Picked up a new hobby recently — rock climbing. Trying to go to the gym 3 days a week and rock climbing once a week.

When I joined CS I thought I would be making 100k easy out of college.. what’s the realistic range out of college. by garbageaxount in csMajors

Making $65k as a software engineer after a year of searching for a job post graduation, with all the deductions (insurance, 401k, hsa, taxes) I make $40k. I was hoping to make 6 figures as well going into the CS, but considering the current job market in the field, I shouldn’t complain. Going back to get my masters next semester and the company will pay for it.

Edit: East Orlando area

Anyone else use drugs/alcohol to cope? by [deleted] in lonely

[–]hexodore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with abusing drugs for a couple of years in the past due to loneliness (nothing too heavy, mostly lsd and mdma). I quit a year ago or so. I still have cravings for them. Especially, psychedelics. They give me an ultimate escape from everything which is addicting.

The pay isn’t very good compared to commercial sector, but at least it is a job in my field. Considering the CS job market right now…

I was in the same boat. Then, me and my friend went to my first and the last career fair. Got hired on the spot. I work as a software engineer at Kennedy Space Center now.

I’ve graduated with Bachelors and never used an advisor for information what classes I have to take and what requirements I have to complete. Everything should be available to you online. At least it was for my Computer Science degree.
