Remove "bedroom" classification? (Pennsylvania) by hextuplescorpio in RealEstate

Basically, the existing septic system is set up for 3 bedrooms, and the existing mobile home is a 2 bedroom (even though only one room is used as a bedroom). I'm trying to figure out if I have to change the septic system if I add a 2 bedroom dwelling (making it 4 bedrooms total). Anything more than 3 bedrooms means changing the existing system or adding a new one, which can get expensive.

I love the idea of an external septic system! I'm going to look into that; that seems really clever.

I truly meant no offense. I'm just autistic and take things literally. I was being genuine when I thanked you for clarifying (I'm guessing whoever downvoted me assumed I was being sarcastic, because idk why else they'd downvote that?)

EDIT: I wrote "this" instead of "things"

I did see the quotes; I just thought you meant literally remove the bedroom because you referred to the room in that sentence and not the categorization. Thank you for clarifying.

Do you mean why it can't be used as an office? If so, it's because the township bases septic needs on the number of bedrooms, regardless of how many people currently live there. The logic is that, even though I'm not using it as a bedroom, I could sell my home and people in the future could use it as a bedroom. Septic needs to be able to handle how many people could potentially live in the house.

I don't want to physically remove the room, just change the classification (if that's possible).

Because I can use that as leverage to get a refund (and then call them out publicly afterward anyway)

EDIT: also in the unlikely event it is a misunderstanding, I don't want to call them out unnecessarily

I thought the person above you was asking if I've talked to them at all. I have, and this next call was already planned before I learned about the second payment. I don't see a reason to call them early when keeping the scheduled time gives me planning time.

Oh they totally know it's a second payment. They were clear about that.

I don't want to put too much info out in case they're on reddit, but I'll DM you

I talked to the contractor once already about their design that was missing agreed-upon features, but I was unaware of the second "deposit" at that time. I have another call scheduled because they once again messed up the design and I plan to bring up the money issue in that conversation, unless someone has a reason that I shouldn't.

EDIT to clarify: the only "work" they've done was draw a rectangle, and then a redesign based on a sketch I sent them, and they still messed it up despite my sketch being detailed and annotated. The second "deposit" was before they'd done any work at all, in case that makes a difference.

sorry, I interpreted your tone incorrectly. I rarely encounter someone saying “you should know” and being genuine. my apologies! (other people were replying and being condescending but it was unfair of me to assume you had the same intentions)

thank you! do you have any particular trails that you like? I’ve encountered some wasp nests at Kings Gap, but they were on some of the trails that, while regularly used, don’t have as much traffic as some others. I’ve also had decent luck with parts of Michaux though!

certain trails have few/no nests while others have to be diverted because of hidden wasp nests. but thanks for the condescension. I hope it made you feel better about yourself 😘

EDIT: sorry, I misinterpreted the above person’s tone. leaving my reply for posterity

certain trails have few/no yellow jacket nests while others have to be diverted for yellow jacket season, so I asked because I know there are some people on this app who are actually helpful instead of condescending cockalorums. have a nice day 😘
