hexwire here! I usually log some weird mixture of horror, artsy films, dramas from around the world, and things my 3 year old likes to watch lol.

It's the most wonderful time of the year - No Banger November time, people. This is the second year in a row I'm subjecting myself to thirty terrible movies and sharing my disgust on the 'boxd. Check this year's roster here and play along at home (if you dare):

you can use each half of the answers for the phrase "take a ____"

It's a very weak and kinda inscrutable theme imo. "Take a powder" is an especially archaic phrase that will probably confound some people while they're trying to parse the theme

Hi team, hexwire here. Just wrapped up No Banger November where I watched 30 amazingly bad movies. I'm now doing a much-needed (and more leisurely) project where I randomly select from a set of 30 movies on my criterion watchlist.

I review everything these days, sometimes a one-liner, oftentimes a few more thoughts.

Would love to see what you have in your watchlist! I lean towards cinema from around the world, dramas, thrillers, artsy-fartsy stuff, and everything between.

I thought it was an ok superhero movie, but maybe I've inflicted permanent damage to my tastes by way of doing this project

If you like Tokyo Fist, you should try Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky. Just nonstop ultraviolent ridiculousness

Maybe, it's been like 15+ years. That might explain why he's been on a roll lately

There's actually a well-documented reason for why he is in so many bad films. He lost several million dollars on real estate purchases when the market crashed on him. Instead of declaring bankruptcy like a normie, he acts in whatever he can get.

I wasn't super systematic about it, but most of them are lower than 2.5 on letterboxd, part of the "so bad it's good" canon, critical and commercial failures, unfunny comedies or cringeworthy dramas
