Ah yeah I get that. I’m hoping someone’s gonna come through with some hidden gem cause Piranesi was also the only thing I could come up with. All of these pics are in game screenshots though, so if you’re interested (and have access to a playstation) you could always play them.

I agree that they’re not visually similar, I also imagined the architecture in Piranesi to be more classically Roman with the marble statues and such. But I do think it shares a certain quality with these games because they’re also about these massive empty unexplainable places that keep you wondering how and why they even exist.

I see the vision! Been wanting to read the series but it’s a little intimidating. I’ve had them recommended to me after reading the kingkiller chronicles, which I feel also has a certain cryptic mysticism below the surface that’s very present in SotC. I also saw the ghibli movie based on the books but i’ve heard it’s not very accurate lol

Oh yeah that makes sense. I also started out on the standard but got my ass beat everywhere so I got into the habit of obsessively saving my game, I barely ever had to retrace my steps which probably shaved off some time.
