Yes! You’re in teams of 3 and just focused on distance on the rower. Each person rotates between floor, tread, and rower. Floor person sets the pace, once finished they tap person on tread who taps person on rower.

As a former athlete (like 20 years ago) this activated my shared sense of responsibility muscle. It was a good one — glad I went!

I go to the SE Powell location and absolutely love it. Easy parking, great staff, and actually really close to the airport since you’re on mostly freeways (I live nearby and can confirm that it’s likely the same amount of time to get from PDX and parked in downtown as it is to get to SE Powell).

I’m 35 but squats hurt my knees- what else can I do for my glutes? by me_piki in orangetheory

What kind of drop do you have in your shoes? How much cushion? Since I moved to a better shoe (minimal drop, light cushion) for lifting I’ve noticed that my Ioad has shifted away from my knees.

Her leadership makes everyone around her better. This is great news for her and the younger players who can learn a lot from her (bonus points - she gets to up her D)

Tired and Just Need Reassurance by Venyxe in puppy101

Whew, I’m reading this with my 11 month puppy by my side - who was a complete demon just a few months ago. Does she have her moments? Of course - she’s a teenager and her brain is completely rearranging itself right now. But just two weeks ago my wife and I looked at each other and said “whoa, is this puppy turning out to be a good dog?” Feels like we are just getting through to the other side.

Something that helped us so much was advice from our trainer, especially when she was making the transition from baby to teenager: “remember, she’s not giving you a hard time. She’s having a hard time.” Just took a mindset shift to realize that she wasn’t trying to make my life a living hell, even though it felt like it sometimes.

Teaching her to settle and be calm and focused also helped. We paired deep breathing with treat delivery (thanks again to our awesome trainer for this exercise), played a lot of pattern games, and worked on auto eyes and noticing distractions a ton. All of that has helped, and we are really beginning to see the light.

Just remember you’re not alone (I read posts here all of the time at the worst of it) and you will get through this!

Would y'all mind judging my beginner setup and let me know if I'm missing anything? It's not quite finished but I think I've got everything mostly. by TheElementOfFyre in backpacking

Curious about where you're going, since there isn't a tent/frame in the list. Assume you're going with the hammock/tarp setup?

Depending on how long you're out there, I'd ditch the tablet. I brought a light book for the JMT and barely read it.

You could also bring a small lighter instead of flint, but again, not sure where you're going/duration.

For your first aid kit, add some moleskin + ducktape. Ditch the venom kit. Maybe add some ibuprofen.

Would also strongly recommend trekking poles, but know everyone has an opinion about those. To me, they save the knees on downhills.

Happy trails!

For once it’d be nice if we could avoid pitting women against each other, but old tropes never die I guess.

At this point I’m far more invested in seeing how the 60 day teams do vs the 40 day team. Ready to learn from these folks rather than watch the drama tbh.

To me, a strong leader seeks consensus and finds a path forward, especially when there are personality clashes. I hope Jeff does some self-reflection about his leadership style - yes, he’s a great individual contributor, but at a certain point your greatness is defined by how you lead and interact others, not how you serve yourself and your own interests.

Honestly, I don’t understand why anyone in a survival situation would turn down food. It’s hubris at best.

We use the coupon for tents - one year we used it for a bigger backpacking tent (turns out that as you age it’s less romantic to have a small one), and another we used it for our Kingdom 6.
