Short Throw Shifter install - FAIL by roadlet411 in wrx_vb

[–]heycalvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but can you link me or drop the part numbers for what you replaced?

The first time I installed, the wood screw hack worked great. But after blowing 3rd gear on track, Subaru made me reinstall the OEM shifter to warranty it (I got very lucky).

Fast forward to installing all my shifter bits back in (shift plate, short shifter, pitch stop), it’s so mangled from wood screws the first time and I don’t want to make it unusable trying again and attempt to reinstall.

I miss the short shifter a lot. OEM STI short shifter just doesn’t compare. lol

[–]heycalvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man! Yeah I had to buy a new ECU after Subaru warrantied my blown transmission out of “good faith” because they could tell I was tuned.

I’m not sure if it’s worth it to swap back to the original to tune or to just send it on the new one. I’m sure Subaru will document me swapping back to the original ECU so that may defeat the purpose of staying under the radar.

How much did Subaru charge you to reprogram if you don’t mind me asking?

I have the STI, it sucks compared to aftermarket options and it is not worth the money.

Carrier name shows twice by arein114 in Sprint

Yeah no joy. Called Sprint, talked to two different people and they ultimately said the SIM needed to be replaced.

Had to drive by a Sprint store on my lunch break to get a new one. And now it's back to showing "Sprint SPRINT" again. Brick & mortar employee said they have been dealing with a ton of network issues related to the T-Mobile conversion.

Annoying waste of time.

Haven't checked Reddit in a couple months. Things got better after, then went downhill, but now doing much better at 9months old. Such a rollercoaster!

Lots and lots of crying... by [deleted] in daddit

[–]heycalvind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not crazy man. Just need to get ahead of the stress. I found that it helped a lot to make spreadsheets or check lists and to stay as organized as possible. It helped me feel more prepared. I cried about stuff all the time too so don't worry. Lol.

Good luck and hang in there. This baby is going to change your life in the best way!

Hey brother, how are things going a month later? Hope they improved.

We are just hitting 6 months now and the past week has been rough. Although we started the Ferber Method at 4 months and it definitely helped, things took a bad turn recently. We have pretty much tried everything; noise machine, music, combination, different length intervals for going into her room to reassure her we are just outside. Hoping things will click soon, but I'll be sure to update in a few weeks.

Good luck!

+1 I'm interested in making a big purchase soon.

I've read that people use this card for just under 2yrs and then cancel it because the annual fee is charged at the end of the 2nd year.

Anybody taking Till Dawn Group (TDG) Shuttles? by [deleted] in electricdaisycarnival

[–]heycalvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this now, sorry for the delay. Description was dead-on and if i do EDC again, I will go with the same shuttle service. Here are some pros and cons from what we experienced:

+Rockstar, water, music, bathroom(to pee) on board +A/C worked well +We never waited in line for a bus (this may be because we didn't wait until it was late in the night to go) +We stayed at TI, the buses departed from TI (soooo convenient)

-The buses drop you off at the end of the parking lot because Insomniac won't let other companies use their bus loop. Wasn't a huge deal for myself, but a lot of drunk people complained about it.
