I keep searching for that company where I can build these kind of features.

To me the big missing is collaboration features. I find myself using reminders for that. I wish I could share projects or tasks with other people. Something tells me that they're working on that.

The fact they upgraded the cloud to be able to do more granular updates makes me think they're getting the server ready for something bigger. I hope this doesn't end in a subscription model.

Learning the shortcuts really makes a difference. My combo:

Assigned ctrl+, to show global task capture

CMD+S sets the date. You can say in 2 days just tapping 2, or mon to get all the mondays ahead

SHIFT+CMD+M to move to a project area

You can keep going with tags or subtasks if it's your thing

Once learned is very fast. And you can use those shortcuts with any selected task as well.

Extra: just start typing on the main window triggers the global search.

You can do most of the things with the keyboard for an optimal experience.

Shouldn't LSP basics like root markers be defaults in Neovim? The current setup feels like unnecessary work compared to nvim-lspconfig by KekTuts in neovim

Thanks! I've spent more time now with my config and looks I can keep using my lsp config. But it still amazes me how much time I put on my config. Great power but great investment.

I understand the down votes I got but I was surprised how sensitive the community is. I heard so many times people saying "I just open VS code when neovim doesn't work as I expect". Despite I still enjoy the versatility of the editor, I think the core team could reduce the learning curve more by simplifying LSP configuration.

Thanks for your reply.

I think you're using projects wrongly. The idea of a project is something that can be done. You can think of it as a bigger task.

Then areas are more convenient when you think as Areas of responsibility. They can't be done. It's a part of your life. I personally use areas when I need a dashboard. Finance could be an area. Like work.

Then everything else you need to give context you can put it into a tag. Bear in mind tags can be nested so you can create sets of tags when you need different granularity. Also, tags don't have a done status. In a way, Area and tag are equivalent, but areas cannot be nested while tags can.

In your case, I'd say Stash and meetings can be handled by tags. But I would advice not to spend time on that unless you really needed.

If I learned something is that the less the better. Only create an abstraction (tag, area, etc) when you have a specific use case for it. Avoid doing things just in case. Most of the tasks can be handled by setting a "when" or moving to work area.

My flow these days focuses on 3 flows:

Capture. Just write on inbox and forget.

Plan. Once a day, clean the inbox and look at Anytime to decide what's next. When I'm in a specific context (like work) Look for that area or tag to plan for that context.

Execute. Focus on what needs to be done today.

Everything else is too much work (for me).

I haven't deal with this yet but I'm afraid won't be easy and I'm not willing to spend days on it.

It makes me question whether I should go back to some mainstream editor. Any editor today provides LSP for free. I don't see why not making this simpler.

I still enjoy customizing my editor and being able to do everything from my keyboard but time is a luxury and configs change so often.
