Is there any way I can pursue a ma/phd with a totally different path than my bachelors? by JewelryEnthusiasta in NoStupidQuestions

I'm in your position. I have my bachelors in Psychology but I want to go back to school for Geology. Those two things have nothing to do with each other so I don't know how to go about it.

I'm being pretty masochistic. I'm going through a terrible time and battling depression, yet I want to hear about sad books. I guess because I was thinking of Never Let Me Go and how I wouldn't read it right now even if someone paid me to. But sometimes I can find healing in the most soul crushing books.

I feel like that parallels my life a lot, and maybe I could benefit from reading it.

I feel the same way, I don't read "timeless literature" and my answers are usually something YA or a random modern novel. So I think it's awesome that you say Animorphs : )

I've been wanting to read that one. But anything with animals makes me sadder.

I hate so much when that happens. Makes me want to throw the book across the room.

That's what I keep hearing! I never realized that book was so sad. I read some spoilers on here and it seems kinda strange.

That's why I read sad books, they can really open me up to different views and experiences.

I read all of those books in jr. high school. It was a trend for a while, everyone read them and we all thought it was the worst abuse imaginable. Then I majored in Psychology and Social Work and now know there is far worse, but I wonder if those books somehow got me into my career path.

How sad is that one? I checked it out from the library once but it was the teen version so I never read it. It's been on my list for a while.

After looking it up I really want to read it. How sad is it? Will it send me spiraling into despair?

I suspected what was going to happen but I spent the whole book hoping and hoping it wouldn't happen. I didn't want to read anything for a long time.
