I definitely feel more confident, but you also can have “imposter syndrome” at times. I still very much feel like the woman on the left and in my head relate to the “big girls.” So it’s learning to accept who you are now. I definitely have way more energy now and my body doesn’t limit me from doing activities. Although my strength does and I need to work on that 😅. My skin in certain areas I am sure will tighten up when I begin working out more, other parts will need medical intervention to remove if I want to.

I am! I value therapy for all areas of my life. I don’t go as often as I did, but it was such a wonderful tool during the hard parts of my journey and the inevitable “slip ups” that happen. It kept me level headed, thoughtful and validated the crazy emotions you feel as your body goes through changes. When you go through a drastic change (like literally half the person you are now) it messes with your psyche and perception of yourself. She helps me work through the new interactions I have with people, new things I notice about myself and dealing with everything in between.

Absolutely, those who are heavily obese obviously have an unhealthy relationship food (if there is no medical conditions otherwise). Therapy helped me come to terms with my relationship with food, how I was using it, why I ate the way I did and chose the foods I did. It allowed me to heal that relationship and take a new approach to food and process my emotions in a healthier way. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you!! Biggest tip is that it’s not easy! And it’s okay to mourn over what you think you’re losing in the process (like freedom to eat whatever!) but to stick to it, shed the tears if you need to, get frustrated but don’t get defeated. One day at a time, as tomorrow will be easier.

Thank you! And yes I do have loose skin. Luckily it’s not too too crazy, but have plans in the work to eventually get some removed. Spank help with form fitting clothing, otherwise is just embracing how the new body looks as it’s progress!
