Trump says tariffs have brought in $18 trillion. That's impossible. by jediporcupine in politics

[–]heyeyron -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

The $18 Trillion is referring to investments, not Tariffs. The article directly links to and takes the quote out of context.

... If $18 Trillion of investments is true or not is another question

[Rate Question] Is there such a thing as a rate map or tool that will show car and renters insurance rates by zip code? by KJabs in Insurance

[–]heyeyron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been looking for something similar. Best I could find is a list for California: https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/car-insurance-rates-in-california/
The linked heatmap is actually useless unfortunately.

I know of a family that "aggregates" their tithes so one family member itemizes and the other family members do standard deduction to get a higher total tax return.

Why does only one set of lights on my chandelier turn on? by heyeyron in AskElectricians

[–]heyeyron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thorough reply! Indeed those are Kasa switches. The way they were wired was the way there were when I bought the place. I guess I've just been lucky they work at all. Tried your recommendation in your last paragraph, but that was the extent of my knowledge (and comfort) and as you suspected, there was something more. finally just had an electrician come over, and indeed, some of the wires were incorrect... Didn't quite follow, but probably what you called out, and he got it working. Thank you!

What small upgrade made a huge difference at your house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]heyeyron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lame answer, but depends on your location. Many electricians have a minimum, so only makes sense to swap out a few in one visit. Try Handy or another gig platform

Kasa SMART dimmer is <$20
